Yaman Kuliner — Restaurant in Surabaya

This restaurant is very noticeable, located at the center of Arabic culinary center, next to BCA branch. This area is quite crowded and a little bit hard to get a parking lot, just ask there parking man to help find one. One step out of the car, the smell of spices and very tempting aroma of barbecued food tingling in the nose. The restaurant isn't too big, and casual. We came here in group, so we ordered various menu. One of the most interesting is Kambing Oven (roasted lamb), served on a hotplate. At first, it looks usual, just another forgetable dish, but when the gravy poured, the smell and the sizzling sound ..... Gosh enough talking, let's eat, you know what i mean?? This menu is a-must-try!! So tender, so juicy, a little crisp because of the hotplate, The other menu is Sup Arab, which i'm not really sure if it's authentic Arabian menu, tasted so similar to Soto, but with more spices, tomatoes andd potato and using lamb instead of chicken. Worth to try, still taste delicious. The other menu we ordered was Gulai Kambing, Nasi Mandi Kambing, Tongseng Kambing. I cannot tell much about these because I'm too full to try the other, but according to my friends, they're also delicious and everybody hi home with a smile on their face. THE FOOD WAS SO GEEEEWWWDDD!

I visited this place couple times whenever I want to eat middle eastern dishes. The perks of having house close to this Ampel area is you'll have unlimited options of middle eastern restaurant. Anyway, if you compare one to another middle eastern restaurant, honestly the taste is usually similiar; so does Yaman Kuliner.

We ordered: Nasi Biryani Ayam, Nasi Biryani Kambing, and Kambing Oven Madu.

These were all taste geeewwdd! Oh God, I just realized how much I love middle eastern dishes. The price is also totally make sense. I don't say it's cheap, but it's quite reasonable. My favorite dish is Kambing Oven Madu. Try it and thank me later~

Things that they could be improved on: The restaurant is small and kinda not having good ventilation system, you'll be having a hard time to decide whether you're going to sit inside (and suffering from the heat) or sit outside (and suffering from pollution) hahaha So many beggars and buskers, they literally ask for money maybe around once in 10 minutes Serving time takes a lot of time and sometimes they forget what you've ordered

But, these were all worth it for a plate of Kambing...
