Oh Gelato Cafe — Restaurant in Surabaya

A gelato cafe near Grand City. They have various kinds of flavors, from the standard strawberry sorbet to klepon! (yes, you read it right. KLEPON.) The price is quite affordable. Their medium cup allows you to have 3 flavors at once, cost Rp30.000. So I think it’s quite affordable.

I ordered earl grey, strawberry sorbet, and strawberry cheesecake flavor. Their strawberry cheesecake is good. I was a bit concerned with the earl grey flavor because I’m not really sure why its color is.. grey. They told me that it’s earl grey TEA flavor.. not sure what exactly are the ingredients. Maybe they add activated charcoal? Not sure. Though overall just a little bit too sweet for me, I’m intrigued to try their remaining flavors.

For the cafe itself, I think much could be improved. For instance they still don’t have power sockets available. And no wifi. And I could find no wastafel.

Free Wi-Fi access is also available, and the password can be obtained from the cashier. Motorbike and car parking are available for a fee of 2000-3000 depending on the type of vehicle.

The place is located near grand city mall. It might not be easy to spot, so drive slowly once you passed grand city mall. There is an outdoor and indoor seating. Can fit 20 people at one time. There is also a second floor, but not sure cause I didn’t go there. The indoor seating has corners with some books you can read and a power plug.

There is quite a variety of flavors, price is reasonable. Taste wise, personally the gelato tastes like usual ice cream rather than gelato. They also allow you to taste before choosing the flavour. As for the main dish, spaghetti is good. Overall,...
