Gudeg Koyor Mercon Sumringah Siwalan — Restaurant in Surakarta

This place is very welcoming and friendly. I reccomend to visit this place with your friends or family. This place has so many varieties of foods with many different and exquisite taste of it's own. Based on my personal experience, the food here is very delicate despite it's cheap price, the staff here is also very welcoming and will make sure you'll have a great and once in a lifetime experience. It's very enjoyable to eat and chill here while enjoying their delicacies. They have a range of flavors starting from sweet to even umami. This restaurant is very well known for their mouth-watering and very spicy meals that would make your mouth explode and taste the flavorful wonders at the same time. I reccomend their tasty and savory Nasi Gudeg that provides many types according to your preferences and Lontong Opor. If we are talking about services, their staff is very quick and friendly. When you walk in, they would greet you with their finest smiles ready to serve you. The atmosphere is very fresh and exquisite like their name "Sumringah" which literally translates to fresh and cool. They also provide souvenirs that are a staple to Surakarta/Solo. Their meat is very tender and juicy from what I remembered, they also serve their food fresh and hot. The toilet and tables here are very clean and ready to be used. The interior gives a comfortable and gives a representation of Central Java while still being modern. Their rice is also fluffy and exquisite. For you guys who are looking for a restaurant with traditional Surakarta food in Surakarta,I would recommend this place. In my opinion, their food can be enjoyed on a daily basis. I would love to visit this...

For someone who thought gudeg was synonimous with Yogya, I was proven wrong when I discovered that Solo also had its own version of gudeg.

While Yogya's may be sweeter, the Solo version has a more umami, creamy taste.

And to prove that, where else to go but to Gudeg Koyor Mercon Sumringah.

We ordered two portions of Nasi gudeg spesial (special gudeg rice) with an added lidah goreng (fried ox tongue) on the side. The portions were just right, the sauce creamy and not overpowering, and for someone who can't handle their chilli, the team was accommodating enough to suit my palate.

We washed it all off with es teh krampul (basically, ice lemon tea) and jahe kencur jeruk (ginger, galanga, orange). While both of these drinks were refreshing on a hot Solo day, I have to sing praises to the seemingly basic ice lemon tea. The lemon is a local lemon that gives zest to the drink, and the tea is a concoction of local tea leaves to bring that aromatic, earthy flavour. We topped up a few glasses just to see if our taste buds were deceiving us - they were not.

All in all, a cozy place to rest, relax and recharge before your next adventure in Solo. Oh, and the pretty owner was super nice, stopping by and making sure guests were well attended to.

Itupun harus pake marah2 dulu ke depan kasir dan etalase makanan, sampe nanyain ke mereka, siap apa engga sih buka resto??? 30 menit lo kami sekeluarga dianggurin makanan minuman gaada yg keluar, 1 pun.

Setelah itu baru panik, baru makanan dateng. Bukan gimana2, kita bingung sih, makanan yg di pesen hampir semuanya paket gudeg,

sementara condiments nya udah ada di etalase, yg bikin lama apa?? Ga siap kah?? Kenapa? Males mbak nya apa gimana??

45 mnt lebih loh. Gak hanya makanan, minuman pun harus di sindir baru keluar, harus bilang dulu dari kita, "seret sih mbak 40mnt nunggu makanan, malaah minuman gaada yg keluar 1 pun dari awal".

Payah bener. 1 lagi, karyawan yg hijab yg lebih kurus, hijab warna biru jaga di etalase, coba liat cctv deh si owner biar tau yg mana orangnya

Kita full gak respect sama orang ini,

dari awal dateng diminta menu gak dikasih2, sampe saya harus dateng ke kasir buat minta buku menu

Saat payment kita tanya, mba, kenapa sih kalian lama? Karena apa lama nya? Makanan depan muka kalian loh, tapi kenapa kalian lama?

Dijawab dengan ngeselin "kita ikut antrian soal nya kak" kita tanya balik kok, antrian yg mana?? 45 mnt lebih loh kalian baru serving kita, dan baru temen nya jawab mohon maaf.

Sorry mba, lo kerja dalem team, kalo gabisa kerja jaga sifat aja cukup, jangan jadi beban temen lo yg masih butuh kerjaan. Makanan?

Hmm with so much respect, kami gabisa bilang ini enak 🙏lumayan kena video marketing tiktok dengan kalimat "gudeg nya bukan yg manis banget, selayak nya gudeg solo" ya tapi masih harus sangat dibenahi dari kualitas rasa nya.
