This is a throwback to my favority.

Pecel Solo

Pecel Solo is a well-known restaurant in Solo City acclaimed for its spread of traditional Solonese and Javanese dishes. Many of these dishes aren't as easily found in Solo's restaurants these days. We were here to try garang asem ayam, a local specialty where chicken is cooked in banana leaves with coconut milk, tamarind, starfruit, and chilies to give it a spicy and floral taste. Order this and a variety of other side dishes to eat with nasi liwet (spiced coconut rice). Oo Mamal We sat out the front of the restaurant where they had a live band and one of the guys on our trip @team_albe is a jack of all trades so joined them on the Cajon box for a few songs LOL I had a try too.

This was the last video in my Indonesia food critics. Thank you guys so much for watching my overseas content! Shout-out to all of the amazing people I met...

The restaurant is visually appealing, boasting a beautiful Javanese aesthetic with many traditional ornaments that enhance the atmosphere. It's a place frequented by many well-known figures, which adds a touch of prestige. Unlike typical pecel eateries that are often set up by the roadside with tents, Pecel Solo Resto offers a more refined dining environment. The decor and ambiance make it an interesting place to visit and dine.

However, when it comes to the food, the pecel itself was somewhat ordinary. The peanut sauce, which is the star of pecel, lacked the robust flavor we were expecting. Despite this, we thoroughly enjoyed the accompanying dishes. The egg omelet, fried chicken, and pindang eggs were all excellent and complemented the meal well. The restaurant’s commitment to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and service is evident, and the staff were friendly...

Where to next? Lunch bell rang and we heading to Restaurant Pecel Solo. My-my! Ambiance really a stand-out. As if you have walked into someone’s rustic and traditional those days house. Regardless, let me tell you that being seated in the stuffy, cramped dining area and hardly any space breather to move around was not a comfort zone. Food by far too was not a major delicious pop-up. In fact, just so-so and pretty much only acceptable. Pretty much the same like those we have already tucked into in other eateries Maybe those were far out much better. Nevertheless, in all fairness, credit due, not high distinction though, must be credit given right? Rice set meal and dessert were not winners, but did reflect how a traditional Indonesian...
