Restaurant Sambara has recently opened in the Alam Sutera residential complex in the Woodlane shopping area. With a position at the end of the shop, it provides a wider parking lot and does not feel cramped. Restaurant Sambara is a Sundanese-style restaurant. The menu served is very fresh and varied. Each guest takes a side dish that has been prepared and then given back to the staff to be cooked or fried according to the menu chosen. There is: empal goreng fried chicken keremes honey fried chicken rib meat fried carp fried carp fried tofu/tempe tofu/tempe bacem pepes tofu chicken pepes tempeh mendoan intestine satay And so on. There are also vegetables such as, karedok, cassava leaves, mushrooms, black squid. There is also fried chili sauce and impromptu chili sauce.
The drink menu is not too extensive; there are few specialties. The staff are very friendly and helpful when choosing from the menu. Although there are tables and chairs available on the second floor, it still cannot accommodate the guests who come, so there is a waiting list. Unfortunately, guests on the waiting list are not provided with enough chairs or benches to wait, so there are guests who have to stand because they can't find a chair to sit on. The position of the waiting list seats is outside the restaurant; it is quite hot when waiting during the day. And it can get rained on if the rain is...

Read moreWhen i came to Sambara, i thought to myself, this is just a fancy Ampera. While it was, Sambara is more than just that.
I called Sambara a fancy Ampera because that's how you order your food, pick 'em from the buffet, some need to be heated, fried, or grilled, some are ready to eat. I picked Sambara fried chicken, mendoan, karedok, cassava leaf with coconut milk, chicken intestines, and sauted salted squid. While the chicken was nothing special, the rest were awesome, especially the cassava leaf and karedok, definitely an awesome place if you want to break a bit from the meats.
The place is neat, the decor is pretty basic compared to other indonesian cuisine places like Kayu Kayu, Telaga Sampireun, or Akibat Bebek Muda but it's still pretty nice.
The crew are friendly and nice, the price is obviously higher than Ampera but not overpriced....
