McMahons Cafe Bar — Restaurant in Cavan

On a Saturday morning, the audience consisted 100% of grandparents with their children, young families after a shopping spree or a cinema matinée , and grannies, mommies and babies meet-ups. Yet the "cafe bar" blasted soccer games on all large screens. Talk about not giving a 'continental' about your customers... Zero atmosphere....

We ordered the most interesting items on the menu (apart from pizza). Mayonnaise drenched wraps and toasted sandwiches is what we got. No taste, no flavour, nor creativity or chefs flair...

It feels like all they care about is to flog pub grub fillers to sports watching punters after their many pints at the bar. Frothy cappuccino, lattes and babycinos were impossible to tell apart. Could have been anything warm and frothy...

How can a cafe bar get it so wrong? It almost feels like they are trying extra hard to chase away customers....

Shame to waste a great town centre location. Waste of our money and time too.

Rude. Bar tender. I go there every lunch time it is a fantastic place for food and the ATMOSPHERE is brilliant and the female staff are unbelievably helpful. However the male bartender or manager is extremely rude and always has been towards me regardless of the fact I'm there everyday of not every second day. He rudely told me the coffee machine was off today and only beer orsger was available i asked for a frappachino and was told beer or lager only. There was no signs for this and seemed as if it was only done as the male bartender in charge knew I would be ordering coffee. He has had a horrible attitude towards me for months and was extremely rude and made me feel unworthy to be there. I felt discriminated...

I would give -100000 stars if it would be possible, the food wasn’t that good but very expensive, the staff wanted us out because somebody reserved a table. We weren’t welcome and the staff was unfriendly A waitress came two times and asked us to move our stuff and expedite cause somebody was supposed to come nobody’ came for 2 hours .All in all a bad experience and a bad place

Edit: I was just eating chips and a waitress stole them...
