Amazing Italian food! I come from a city with varying incredible Italian food from different regions in Italy. When I came to Ireland people said “don’t eat the Italian - you’ll be disappointed!” This place is the exception. It is run by Italian people who know their food. We had the crostini (chefs choice) as our starter - terrific and distinct flavor combinations. Highly recommend. What’s better than the chef sharing what’s fresh and what’s best. It allows for creativity. We were well rewarded. The simplest crostini was a fresh cherry tomato perfectly seasoned with salt and pepper on a fresh toasted crostini. It was fresh, crisp, and lovely. The most complex was a caramelized onion with cheese (Brie?). Sweet, savory, perfect. Everything in between was equally delightful. Next we had the puttanesca. It was amazing! A perfect combination of flavorings with just the right amount of spice - and the anchovy did its job adding saltiness without fishy-ness. We also had a special: the porcini ravioli with truffle cream sauce. If you love mushrooms, this dish is utter perfection. Not too heavy. Flavors that compliment each other. I could eat this for days. The dishes come with fresh bread and a nice little dish of fresh Parmesan. So. Good. Just enough to make this a perfect Italian food adventure. We ended with the homemade pastries with Nutella. So tasty and a wonderful finish to dinner. The staff did a great job recommending a dry wine for my wife that she loved and the one Italian beer on the menu was wonderful! If you want a true Italian meal with a thoughtful and attentive crew, this is the place to eat.

Lovely place, amazing food and very fun and friendly service. The nice lady recommended me her favourite dish (the green bean-pesto lasagna) which is not something I would have ordered by myself but it was the tastiest thing I’ve had in Ireland yet (apologies to Irish fare!) It’s a small space with a couple of tables outside as well so I recommend reservations if you want to dine at a popular time. Passatempo is down a narrow alley in a quieter part of this very charming town. If they opened a location where I live, I think I’d live there :-)

I should have taken a picture before we started eating. We had some really tasty olives and ordered the prawn and spinach spaghetti. Absolutely delicious and the Pinot Grigio was spot on too. We will definitely be back to this spot. Very reminiscent of brasseries on mainland Europe.

Food was lovely, but very small and very expensive. And very small portion. For small plate antipasti (3 slices salami, 2 slice different salami, 3 slices forest ham, 2 pieces chili cheese, 4 pieces diferent cheese and 5 olives, not bread or crackers I paid 9.90 euro, was less then small plate. My friend had half panini and as well paid 9.90. Side salad extra charge 4.90 for small bowl. No side salad or crisp for panini or antipasti. Only Tiramisu and Coffee recommend, but not food.I will back for Tiramisu and Coffee (recomended), not recommend...
