Myself and four friends arrived in at 8:10pm on a Saturday evening and were looking for food. We managed to get a table that had a reserved sign on it for 10pm so naturally enough we would have finished eating in loads of time to have moved from the table. We all ordered main courses and had 2 chicken wing platters between us all for the starter. We also bought two drinks each. Needless to say I won't be back to the pub that I always ate and socialised in. The chicken wings that were served up to us were like as if they had been eaten or chewed at. Yes the pictures below are infact what we were handed out even though they look like that they were eaten.Secondly the steak I got was fatty and the veg that was served with it was like what the chef just wanted to get rid off. Also one of the staff was extremely rude to us and asked us to move four times even though it was still only twenty past nine. Whoever thought that Mullingar would have rude and stuck up hostesses that cared more about the party in at 10pm than the five people who handed over €30 each at 9:30pm.I didn't want to complain on the night as my friends were with me. We went up to The Fence at 9:35pm and were treated like VIPs and yes the place was busy. I certainly won't be back to Danny Byrne's for food or drinks as in this day in age, Mullingar has way better establishments that look after...

I've been here a few times for just nights out and I've always had a great time. I went in yesterday for lunch and the staff were lovely but the food was a let down. I had made plans to meet a friend there later that evening for dinner so I gave it another chance. I'm so sorry I did. I ordered bruschetta. I got bread with no garlic on it, tomatoes, celery, peppers and cheese. It said it came with tapenade and when I asked the waitress where was the tapenade she went to ask the chef. She came back and said they'd none left. Then I said I wanted to send it back, she offered me a free meal in fairness but I just was so put off I said no. I worked in the restaurant business for years and if a customer orders a dish and you're all out of one of the ingredients you let them know. My friend ordered the burger and couldn't eat the bacon it was so gray in colour and the two burgers weren't great either. Then we ordered cocktails and we were 25 minutes waiting for them and the whiskey sour was the worst we ever had. I love Danny Byrnes for a night out, and the staff are always so good but yesterday was disappointing. A male waiter was excellent during lunch time, and even asked if we wanted more ice in our water as it had melted which was lovely. But I was so annoyed over the food. I'll drink there again but I'll never eat there, and either...

Wont be back! Ordered food, left waiting over 40 mins with no communication from staff. Asked where our food was and was told “there’s a function on, the chef is finishing their mains and will be doing yours then”!! Not a mention of this when we placed our order! Almost 50 mins waiting and we decided to cancel our order and leave, then suddenly the food arrived! Personally, I wanted to leave, but my co diners thought as the food had now arrived we would sit and eat as we were all really hungry and had waited the best part of an hour!! The food wasn’t good at all, I barely ate mine, the meat was dry and tasteless, the vegetables were like something scrapped off a previous diners plate and reheated, disgusting!! My co diners, two men were so hungry they ate the food but both said it wasn’t good at all. A waitress came to the table and asked if everything was okay, I said no it wasn’t, the food wasn’t good and not worth waiting almost an hour for! She said they were taking the delay into account and giving us a free dessert!! We didn't order dessert and had no intention of having any! A scant apology for the ridiculous wait and still managed to charge almost €60 for three horrible dinners!! Can’t understand the good reviews! Would not...

Really pleasant pub with live music and really good food, main problem is the price, the chicken wings took €3 in 4 year according to the old menu photos, almost 10 euros for 6 tenders with no dip (which is fine by me but some people would like blue cheese dip) is a bit too much, but they are really good. Also €3.50 for 200ml soft drink is way too much, and they aren't on the menu so no way to see the prices beforehand. I'm putting pictures of the new menu as I think an update is needed. The price is the only dark spot of this place, otherwise it would have been a perfect 👍

Love Danny Byrnes, it's cool but cosy, trendy art work with traditional furniture finishes. Staff are friendly and efficient. Great spot for live music, big screens for sports, top notch smoking area and the food is gorgeous. Fantastic atmosphere, great for functions, some serious dancing has taken place here, it's stylish, slightly grubby, covered up with red lights, it's loud and most importantly it's fun.
