What can i say abour Jalan Jalan Athlone. First impressions, decor fabulous. And there a man stood behind the bar, shirt unbuttoned half way down his chest. I did not know if i should stay or turn and leave. I stayed with the hope he would stay behind the bar and not touch the food. I had hoped in vain. We were shown to our table and had to move it ourselves as the tables behind us were jammed up against us. We were given menus. 20 minutes later our order was taken, 35 mins later we got our starters, no shortage on the coriander. 40 mins after our plates were cleared our mains arrived, again no shortage on the coriander. I skipped dessert as I had my fill of coriander. My companion was brave enough to try the cheesecake, said it was ok but it was served like something at a child party. Cant understand why service was so bad as there were two staff members polishing glasses behind the bar and the manager standing beside them. There was one staff member literally running around trying to take orders, serve and clear tables. Dress code need for ALL staff. Food. All I tasted was coriander. Service. Abysmal. Safety. Fire...

I rang them and asked what was the story and a very rude what sounded like young woman said that the kitchen closed at 21:30 which makes no sense as online it said I can order for collection until 22:20. She then very rudely told me to put in my order again online which I did , when I got there a blonde girl that sounded like the same girl that was on the phone to me made the rudest face at me and said “ eh hello ? “ as if we were not welcome . When I got home with the food the sushi tastes like absolute rubbish and my mother would not eat it as she said she didn’t even want to chance it , my boyfriend took one piece and couldn’t even swallow it and had to spit it in the bin .
Overall I would not recommend this place as the customer service is awful and so was the sushi not to mention we spent...

Basically that's what I did: I was walking around town and I saw the restaurant, the menu looked very attractive and reasonably priced. I ordered the vegetables spring rolls, the crispy roast duck and the hazelnut creme pyramid. Everything is cooked fresh from scratch and is inspired by Malaysian street food. Satay chicken is the most popular dish and I must say the crispy duck was excellent. Jalan Jalan in Athlone is building from the strong brand from the Galway restaurant and is already proving a hit after only two weeks from opening. Service is friendly and efficient, the decor is modern and vibrant; highly...
