Booked dinner and drinks for after a Leinster game in the Aviva. Arrived at 6 and waited 30 minutes for someone to come and take a drinks order. All the staff just walked past us and then when I eventually asked someone. We were then informed that drinks were only ordered at the bar and that food orders were taken at the table.
We weren't given any menus, so we looked at the menu online. At this point we were there another half an hour and nobody came up to take our order. I got up and went inside to ask someone to take a food order for us where we were sitting. Eventually then someone came out to us to take our order. I then tried to order, and was only then, after 90 minutes of being there informed that there was a match day menu so we had to spend more time deciding.
I then ordered a burger instead of what I wanted off the original menu and got a burger that I could have done better making myself. 16+ euro for a burger that was basically just beef mince shaped into a burger shape without any seasoning not surprisingly was bland and not worth the money paid for it. I could have gone to a chipper near by and spent half the amount of money and had something that actually tasted nice.
After the long wait due to the poor service, the lack of any information given to us on how we could order or what we could order, and then given a mediocre (at best) meal, I don't think I could recommend anyone I know going here if they plan on having a bite to eat. Given the amount of money that was spent on drinks by the 10 or more people that had food, this experience was very disappointing, not to mention also being made pay before we even had our food! I then ate less than half of the burger that I prepaid for.
Don't go here for food, and definitely not on match day. It was an all round disappointing experience not...
Read moreI recently went here for lunch during a show at the RDS (Its conveniently located straight across the road from the RDS) and was the overall experience was quiet bad. In fairness I went here during a busy time which was fair enough. But when I made my order it had gotten a good bit quieter so expected my order to be dealt with better. I ordered a steak sandwich and I was left waiting on my order for over 40 minutes with no update on my food order. Eventually I had to ask for my order to be left as takeaway as I couldn't wait around any longer. During this I had to stand waiting at the bar very patiently to eventually be giving my food in two plastic takeaway tubs (This wasn't the main issue). I eventually got to sit down to eat the food I ordered. I could barely eat it was to my disgust absolutely horrible. The sandwich felt like it was just left under a heater for way too long after it has been already overcooked and the bread was extremely crunchy and to the point where it was inedible. I tried to eat about half of it and had to stop and throw it out. If I didn't have to wait so long and been left short on time I would have brought this back and requested a new meal but unfortunately I didn't have the time as always left waiting too long and had to get back to work. (I only wish I had taken pictures to give you a better representation of the food I was given ) This was extremely disappointing considering I was expecting to get a better meal from bar/resteraunt in a respectable expensive...
Read moreWe had booked our table here weeks in advance as we were excited about the beautiful outdoor area which did not let down- the Horse Show House has a fantastic outdoor area. Unfortunately we had a very unpleasant night; service staff were just plain rude, some staff just plain ignoring us when we tried to get service, some telling us "oh we'll try" to get us our food order, several staff coming over to our table when eventually flagged down but not clearing away clearly empty glasses and dishes. Leaving us wondering was anyone going come back, some staff literally ignoring us as we "weren't in their area" but not sending down the appropriate staff to take our orders. It took 35 minutes to order our first drink, and a full hour after that to order our second. We mentioned our concerns twice to two different staff at first with no apologies, only excuses, when we did eventually have our concerns acknowledged we gratefully accepted a complementary drink, however it was too little too late as not one staff member offered an apology, only excuses. It was busy that night and the staff did mention something about the "systems being down" but this did not explain the rude attitudes of some staff members. Some really lovely staff members - we really appreciated Jerry and Isobel who were extremely friendly and professional but unpleasant experience with others. Overall extremely disappointed with service and management when it could be a lovely pub with such a nice setting. Very disappointed and will...
