Three stars because we found Land to Sea significantly overrated given recommendations, and the combination of food quality, service and price. We went here on the basis of its Michelin recommendation, which in our experience has been usually very aligned with our tastes and expectations. This was a rare miss in this regards. The food was good, but nothing spectacular and overall sort of bland. This comment does not come from one "off dish", but cut across all 6 dishes we ordered. Moreover, the service and atmosphere was pretty standard. Like several other reviewers, and locals who we shared with afterward, we remain perplexed as to why this restaurant receives such high accolades. Frankly, we have had many better meals in the last few years across Ireland and elsewhere at a lower price. Indeed, there are at least two places within a few blocks in Dingle that meet this criteria. In the end, when asked for dessert and already confronted with overpricing, we opted for ice cream down the street.

My husband and I spent two weeks traveling Ireland, throughout our entire trip, this was by far the best meal we had. We ordered the Wild Venison Pate and Heritage tomato salad with local goat cheese as a starter and the Kerry Lamb and Dingle Hake with asparagus as our mains. It was all so beautifully prepared, we almost didn't want to eat it! The quality of the ingredients, love and care behind each dish is evident. We finished our meal with the Burnt Baby Guinness; Baileys Creme Brulee and it was exceptional. We've been to many good restaurants all over the United States and Ireland, and this experience was one of a kind! The atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming, while still being very lovely and upscale. Very reasonably priced for how sensational the meal and the experience were! Julian is an incredible chef, and the staff was fantastic! We'd give this place 6/5 stars if it were available, best restaurant in Ireland, let alone Dingle. Do NOT miss your opportunity to eat here!

My husband and I must have gone to Land to Sea in Dingle at a very good time. We really enjoyed our meal and we did the tasting menu. Keep in mind that this was previously a Michelin star restaurant so the presentation is an important element and a tasting menu is meant to allow the diner to enjoy multiple dishes without feeling bloated. Portion size is not as important as taste and appearance which were fantastic during our meal. The waitstaff was a bit on the short side so we enjoyed a leisurely meal with reasonable pacing. Really fantastic meal so I feel bad if the kitchen and front of house were not up to par for other diners. I definitely recommend dining here if you want a special meal.

So incredibly disappointing.....

Firstly it was my wife's birthday. The location had been recommended to Us by the Pax Guest House which was amazing. I had told the owners it was my wife's birthday and was hoping to make it special. They indicated that they would make it very nice have a candle have some kind of birthday thing and really do it up. I have the emails and can prove this fact. However. When we arrived nothing. A person should not offer to make a Day special allowing someone to expect and hope for it and then just plain not do it.

The waitress did the absolute bare minimum that was required of her. She spilled the wine we ordered on the table and never cleaned it up or said sorry. She just left us napkins to do it ourselves. I virtually had to chase her down to get refills on the water glasses. She legitimately seemed annoyed to be doing her job. The people at the table next to us talk to us and we're equivalently irritated. At least she got out the door within an hour so the table could be turned over and make more money.

Secondly the food was generally average. I have been to many Michelin star restaurants throughout my life and in recent years. And this just didn't cut it. I had pea soup as an appetizer which was very good. However the steak for dinner was tough undercooked and not very good. Dessert was okay..

...All in all I was very disappointed. I would not recommend it to anybody. I was in the hospitality industry. And worked as a waiter in college. I know some things don't always go as planned. And maybe our waitresses was just having a bad day. It was incredibly disappointed. And again w would not...
