We were met at the door by a gentleman in glasses that we took to be the restaurant manager. Upon enquiring about a table we were curtly told to wait at the bar. This gentleman was totally charmless and devoid of any pleasant greetings. A bad start as first impressions are indelible. We considered leaving but a table came free and we decided not to be deterred by one person's behaviour. The room is really nice and spacious and the food was decent. Shame the experience was overshadowed by the boorish attitude of one staff member. He should be sent across to Benners Hotel to learn how to be gracious,to smile and be welcoming.
