I can start by providing an honest opinion of the restaurant and area - as I grew up only a 5 minute walk away… - A brilliantly placed restaurant with a comfortable, local atmosphere attached - food above average but still pricey for the overall experience I had. Here is a solid breakdown of 50/50: (Pros & Cons) Pros: 1) Good Service - Attentive staff and friendly. I can say that the staff working here understand hospitality service. 2) Quick initial service with a fast reaction for drinks - my glass was almost empty and the staff were very quick to react and ensure that I had a beverage to enjoy 3) Food selection was quite broad - lots of selection for our guests Cons: 1) Food (for the price) - was definitely overpriced but not on the worst side of the scale. My steak was €33 for a few frozen onion rings and a peeper sauce. The potatoes were well roasted with rosemary and butter but it can’t explain the cost. Asked for medium rare | almost perfect but definitely overpriced. Prawns and pasta with a basic cream sauce for €19.90 - overpriced for the environment, service and variety provided. 2) I asked for a cloak room or space for my wife’s jacket and bag - the response from the manager was “the back of the chair, we don’t have a cloakroom”. Very unprofessional, and quite frankly lazy for the price you pay… I would have thought after 20+ years in hospitality, that this was an essential part of any restaurant environment to have. 3) I asked “what type of beers do you have on tap?” - only Peroni seems a bit cheap to be honest and while I paused to consider my decision, I hoped to be offered a reasonable choice of quality beer (bottle or not), it was a very simple solution for customers paying at least 30-40€ per person. Not for free of course, I just would have personally hoped for anything other than Peroni. 4) Starter came out EXCEPTIONALLY fast. I asked what the soup was, I was told “veg”… I asked what vegetables, I was told “I don’t know, just the usual carrots and potatoes”. Perhaps I was a bit too relaxed, but I definitely expected a more thoughtful response as I am still a customer. 5) Main courses took over 25 minutes to come out, it did get busy from the time we came in but we were 6 people and local - I didn’t expect to try and find conversation with my party while I watched efficiently served food and drinks to other tables. The manager came over and asked my father what each and every order was (like he genuinely had no idea) and in fairness, did apologise for the delay but in all honesty, was completely clueless about our tables order and seemed like he was just saying “apologies about the delay” because my father had to ask what the delay was. Acting interested does not prove you actually are, this was a simple thing for most but as a chef and hospitality professional, very lacking in basic communication. 6) Main courses tasted great, I can’t lie about that - BUT - baby potatoes with some frozen onion rings and simple pepper sauce for €33, definitely priced the demographic, not the quality. After everything I have here, I can’t lie but give it a straight 3/5. Far from exceptional but great tasting nonetheless. A lot of factors go into any review but disappointingly in this case, the combination of food / service / price, add up to an experience that I don’t wish to experience again for that price. There are a lot of restaurants in Dublin, this is one that missed a few serious marks in my eyes. Maybe I’m critical, yes… but I am always realistic and this is just a flat 3.. Not bad, definitely NOT terrible, but yes… overpriced and lacking basic hospitality comfort.

Dined here recently as part of a group. As a lover of Italian food was really looking forward to the experience and overall it didn't disappoint. From the moment we entered the ambience was really good. Restaurant was close to operating at full attendance so the cacophony of all the other tables and the bright decor made for a good entrance. Shown to our tables immediately the service we received from the staff throughout our time there was really good. Always friendly and professional towards us. No big wait times between courses and didn't leave a build of empty glasses or bottles on our table. The food was delicious and fresh made with quality produce. The portion sizes were just right. We ordered several different dishes from both starters and mains and no complaints from anyone. The only small downside is that we arrived 15mins earlier but as they were busy we couldn't come in. Which is totally understandable but it just meant waiting outside the building for those minutes. Would return though.

Michaela looked after us Booked a table for 7, service charge added We went with the Early Bird 3 Course Meal €30.95 Decent choices, good value I went with the Spicy Chicken Wing Starter, Satay Chicken Curry 1/2 & 1/2 with the Malteeser Cheesecake option Our only hiccup was the dessert, one of our guests has an allergy to strawberry and was given strawberry. This was rectified and an alternative provided. Please make sure to cater for all, if some mentions an allergy then write down allergy. If you need the chef to come out to the table, then get the chef! Other than that, friendly courteous staff and thank you to Michaela for an enjoyable night.

Worst service I have probably received in a very long time! My wife ordered the bruscetta, it was cremated at the bottom, we couldn't get any waiters attention so she left it upside so the server could see how bad it was burned, which she noted when she came to the table apologizing for serving inedible food, my ribs were freezing but I ate them coz I was starving! The mains were OK, we were then asked if we wanted to see dessert menu, we said yes and had to ask again ten minutes later could we actually see it because they *forgot about us"! We asked for a malteeser cheesecake to go and the bill, got the bill and cheesecake but had to wait again for the person to come take payment, which didn't happen so we had to go the desk and pay! They charged us for the inedible bruscetta which was quite annoying tbh! They genuinely thought it was OK to burn somebody's food, ignore them so they can't have it remade and then charged us for something we couldn't even eat! Such a bad service! I still gave a tip though because they clearly just want money despite their lack of caring about the customer, and when we finally got home it wasn't a malteeser cheesecake but a plain one with chocolate sauce!! Will never return and would not recommend it to anybody! I understand places get busy but charging for inedible food is a first! This happened once before in a different restaurant but they didn't charge us for the mistake and gave us a free dessert! This place done neither! First and last...

Hello, Myself and my son love Fifty50 in Templeogue, we live around the Templeogue area and my son plays tennis at the local Tennis Club, so few weeks ago after one of his tennis lesson, we popped in Fifty50 to treat ourselves to their great value and quality Early Bird dinner, we didn't make any reservations but the Team are so nice and welcoming, we got a table. Jane was the waitress in charge of our table that evening, and she been so delightful! Excellent customer service and so attentive to details, she even offers my son Cillian an option to his kids meal menu as my son is quite fussy with spices and texture, but Jane made our mid-week early dinner so enjoyable! I booked a table for next Tuesday as its my birthday and my son will play tennis so we can't wait to go back to our favourite restaurant in the South side! I really recommend Fifty50 in Templeogue either for family events, Early Bird, romantic dinners...food is great and plenty of variety in both A la Carte and in the Early Bird menus...for vegan too, I'm Italian and vegetarian so I definitely love all their pasta dishes! See you...
