I used to live about 500m from Bushy Park when I was 5 -7 years old and I can definitely say I had great fun here. The park has one GAA pitch that is full size and another that I think is slightly smaller than the minimum length/size for a GAA pitch (130m long is the minimum). They also have more juvenile GAA pitches, all of these pitches I have played loads on during my time in Bushy. They also have a lot of football/soccer pitches which are nice, along with a good clubhouse near the skatepark. The skatepark is very nice, I am no skater, BMX rider, or anything like that, but I know people who use it and they think its really good. They also have a tennis and paddle club beside the skatepark, which has very good quality facilities as of 2024. Apart from the sporting facilities Bushy Park has great forestry, wildlife and great scenery-just look at some of the photos on the reviews- they also have great walks with steep hills, pond walks and many different routes. Now I don't walk when I go to a park- I usually just play sport- I can say, however, that Bushy Park has good walks. Bushy also has great atmosphere when the weather is good and the ice cream vans, market stall, swans and herons all make this park unreal in the summer. Bushy also has a large enough playground that has had some renovations over the years. I had great fun over the years here! I hope they don't try modernise the playground and try to minimize the amount of things in the playground. One problem the playground had was bad weather, which could leave the playground half flooded sometimes in the winter, but I think it has gotten a lot better. Playground is a lot of fun, and the hedge that surrounds its boundaries is really nice. Overall Bushy is a great Park, whether you want go play sports, walk or have fun, Bushy has a lot. It also has embraced Irish culture in the simplest of ways over the years. Bushy and Terenure College (which is right beside Bushy) both have great landscapes and wildlife. Bushy is a privilege to have, great for people of all ages!

Sidenote: Some nets for the pitches would be great, I have played against Tempologue Synge Street and Ranelagh Gaels here and it could help so much people, I could also play more hurling here whenever I come, as half the time when I am practicing shooting I am searching for sliotars. I am also sure that rats could be a problem here now, would encourage for there to be some kind of natural predator introduced in places that have loads of rats, as few people realize how dangerous rats can be, to people and the wildlife...

Bushy Park in Terenure, Dublin is a delightful escape that manages to balance peaceful natural beauty with active community life. Spanning about 20.5 hectares and bordered by the River Dodder, the park has wooded areas, ponds (including a duck pond and woodland pond), a waterfall, and scenic walks that make it ideal for anyone wanting some greenery without straying far from the city.

Families often praise the playground—spacious and varied, with plenty of room for kids to run off energy. Sports facilities are well provided: there are tennis courts, football pitches, even a skateboarding area. The Saturday market adds a lively flavour to the place for locals, with artisan food, stalls, and friendly chatter.

On the downside, the ponds sometimes suffer from algae or appear less well maintained, which detracts slightly from the otherwise lovely water features. Parking can also be a headache, especially on busy weekends.

Overall, Bushy Park offers a refreshing mix: tranquil corners for reflection, green trails for walking or jogging, ample space for children, and enough amenities to make it a go-to spot without feeling...

Bushy park has become my most love place to exercise at. It has plenty of pathways in wood there is a river pond with different birds there are signs that explain different birds you can find.People are allowed to feed swans and ducks at the moment swan couple have had it's 8 swan babies.Park is all over well kept and clean on Saturdays there's small market also for vegetarians available. Its great for all ages there's playground, skateboard and DMX area, tennis courts and shop, bocce ball area, small place to play basketball most of park area is used for football trainings. The park is always open lights are on till the tennis courts are closed around 22:00.One small flower bed in whole park.Park is most alive between 16-18 o'clock plenty of school children and teens!I'm so happy for all green grass area is always cut and although people take their Dogg's for walks it's always clean!Have to admit the pathway besides river is not as well kept as the rest of the park.Plenty of pathways in wood area and a small...

I recently visited Bushy Park and I was mesmerized by its natural beauty. This expansive park offers a peaceful escape from the city. The park's lush greenery, diverse wildlife, and serene atmosphere make it a must-visit for nature enthusiasts. The park offers various activities for visitors, including picnics, jogging, and peaceful moments just contemplating nature. The park's size ensures that even during busy times, there is a sense of tranquillity and solitude. It's the perfect place to unwind and rejuvenate, far away from the hustle and bustle of the city. I left Bushy Park feeling inspired and grateful for the wonders of nature. It's a true gem in Dublin, and I highly recommend a visit to anyone who wants to reconnect with nature and be amazed by its beauty.

Lovely, well maintained public park framed by the Dodder River (complete with large and safe stepping stones in good weather). Features include a wooded area full of squirrels, duck ponds, tennis (the only thing you'll have to pay for) and petanque (French boules) courts, an enclosed skateboard area, sports pitches and a playground (with a little zipline). Seriously super place for a pleasant walk with family or friends or jog. Dogs must be leashed at the main pond as the swans are protective. Dog and kid friendly. Free parking (some P&D) in adjacent streets. It's only a 5 minute stroll up to Terenure village where you have access to cafes, bars and restaurants if needed.

A busy suburban park that is packed full of amenities. There are pitches, a tennis and padel club, a skatepark, a children's playground, a zipline, to name a few. There is a wooded area which looks stunning in the autumn. Just outside the outer edge of the park by the wooded area, there is a river walk along the banks of the Dodder. You can often see herons there! While there are official opening and closing times for Bushy Park, you can just walk in at any time. If you are a dog owner, you can let your dog off the lead at certain times of the day only.
