The Morgue — Restaurant in South Dublin

As we as a large family were regular clients of the Morgue/Templeogue Inn - was there yesterday at 3.30 and ordered our meal within 15 minutes- plus 1 drink each. Firstly the service was absolutely disgraceful with horrible attitude from waitress because she forgot our drink order and eventually catching her attention she really was so rude (We were with my mother who is 85 years old and even she couldn't believe the service. Our meal arrived over an hour after ordering - and again the staff just dumped our dinners on table without a smile etc. As for the prices - well we all suffered lockdown but their prices were ridiculous for the mediocre meal - they are now making up for what they lost during pandemic. Cop on Templeogue Inn we have all suffered but you have over doubled you're menu prices for "bar" food. Local competitors have much lower prices. Ok here’s my experience in the morgue today. My friend and I visited this establishment today as we haven’t seen each other in a long time it was my treat. As a person who works in the same industry. I have to say we were a little disappointed to say the least. I ordered half roast chicken and mash potatoes. The mash so salted I couldn’t eat it. The chicken was so dry. And gravy I would say was instant and salty. Not a hundred percent sure if it is instant. But definitely salty. My friend ordered the lasagna to find it had no pasta. I decided to get all food packed to go. And ordered a soup to fill my self up with. Soup was ok. I am not one to complain. But thought you should know this. I’ve heard your carvery is to die for. After months of lockdown, and pubs and restaurants opening again we decided to have an evening out. We were a bit apprehensive after the bad reports about the opening of pubs but not the case here. We were so impressed with the setup. We had a lovely table with plenty of distance from anyone... felt really safe and comfortable. The food was gorgeous, staff very friendly and helpful and my husband said the pint was great. All in all we had a lovely evening in “The Morgue” and congratulate them on a great job abiding by the COVID regulations...we will definitely be...
