Dino's Kinsale — Restaurant in The Municipal District of Bandon-Kinsale

We ate in the restaurant, the food was lovely, the staff were very nice and friendly. There was 6 of us together and a few of us weren't very hungry. This is where it went wrong, 2 of us asked if we could order from the kids menu, this was denied as kids menu only goes up to 10 year old. This wasn't written on the menu. We then asked if they did half portions, again this was a no. So some of us ordered a starter, while the rest ordered a main meal. The quality of the food isnt in question, it was the way the the manager spoke to the staff who attended our table. There were 3 different girls who attended to us as we ordered more drinks and finally dessert. When we went to pay, we wanted to pay separately. This is where the issue started, the manager came to the till, he was arrogant, and berated the staff that had attended our table in front of us. We were disgusted with this as it was unfair on the staff, they work hard, they did their job. One of us stated our disgust at the way he spoke to the staff and then he started to say why he was just in speaking this way. No one wants to be humiliated in front of customers, nor do customers need to hear what he is complaining about their work. This should have been done behind, in his office or somewhere outside of the customers hearing it. He continued to moan while we each paid our bill. The lady in the kitchen didnt have gloves on and was handling food with her hands, which was being served to customers. Where is the food hygiene standards? Overall food was great, but the manager needs to be more aware of how to deal with issues, and its certainly not for all to hear!!!! On that note I won't be eating there again based...

We had a disappointing experience at Dino’s in Kinsale. When we arrived, the waitress warned us there would be delays with the food—which we appreciated—but it felt like she was hoping we would leave. After waiting, we were finally seated, but weren’t allowed to place food or even drink orders right away. Strangely, the table seated after us was able to order food immediately from the same waitress.

The staff seemed overwhelmed and poorly coordinated. Instead of calmly managing their sections, they were constantly running back and forth with one piece of information at a time. This disorganized approach exhausted them and left guests waiting unnecessarily. There were always 4–5 empty tables, so the delays didn’t appear to be due to crowding.

As for the food: • The fish chowder was tasty but had multiple fish bones, which made it hard to enjoy. • The fish and chips featured good-quality fish, but both the fish and chips were under-seasoned and needed salt.

Recommendation: If families with young children are waiting or seated, it would be helpful to offer something simple like colouring pages or crayons. It would make the experience much more pleasant and easier for both parents and staff during long waits.

Great location, decent food, but the poor service and lack of structure made the visit feel more stressful than relaxing. Hopefully the team receives better training and...

I honestly have never felt the need to write a review about a takeaway but after my experience this evening I’m absolutely shook. When I entered I got given out to for where I was stood (apparently there’s a side of the chipper you stand to order and a side you stand to wait for your food), I am not a regular so had no idea of this and there was no signage to make customers aware. I ordered my food and the lady that took my order was the most ignorant person I’ve ever interacted with. I made my order and asked how long it would be (just wanted to know would I wait or return to my car for a few minutes) she snapped at me saying I’ve only just taken your order I have to cook the food, I awkwardly walked outside, the lady that took my order came knocking on the window telling me to come in. The food wasn’t ready so I waited awkwardly, the atmosphere in the chipper was awful, all the other staff were moody also. I honestly have no words for the embarrassment I felt, I was humiliated in front of the other customers. I will never in a million years return to this chipper, the staff are next level rude!
