I am extremely disappointed with the service from this establishment. We ordered food at 7:15 and were told it would be delivered by 8:30/8:45. At 9:30 the food had not been delivered. I then tried to phone the restaurant but they had turned their phones off. I emailed them and got no reply (1 week ago). We eventually decided we would go to bed. At 11:05 the delivery driver arrived (waking everyone in the house up) I obviously didn't accept the order as we had gone to bed and the food would be cold. I rang the restaurant to complain and to ask for a refund the next day. I understand that restaurants can have busy nights and that things can go wrong but the lack of compensation we were given was pathetic. We were told we would get a refund (which hasn't arrived yet) but we would not be compensated for a ruined night. Overall we will never be back and certainly wouldn't recommend to a friend. I stupidly should have read all of the bad reviews...

I really enjoy here. The staff are nice, they obviously prepare the food from scratch because the taste of the food is unique. This is a blessing and a curse. For whatever reason the food tends to be one dimensional. The meals are either uncharacteristically over-sweet, such as their buttered chicken, or just spicy. There's no complexity to the dishes. Listen, they're good portions, and they're tasty, and the prices are on the money. But you can't help thinking that a few fresh herbs at the end of cooking would just bring a bit more depth of flavour to the food. The restaurant itself is a little tightly packed, the wooden tables do feel a little bare bones but, as I said, I do like this place. I know this restaurant for many, many years and always very happy. Last time I gave even 5 stars because food was amazing, but toda I'm extremely disappointed 😞 Beef biryani doesn't even taste similar to the biryani. Is disgusting. Some Madras curry powder mixed with rice, meat and veg. It's bitter and doesn't taste like authentic food. Same with prawns pakora, it is just breaded prawn! Aloo bonda supposed to have some flavor and taste. Your website says "Aloo Bonda - Coated potato balls flavoured with a tempering of mustard seeds, curry leaf and peanut" - I didn't taste mustard seeds, curry leaves or peanuts, I got instead tasteless breaded potatoes with some tumeric. If you have a new chef please teach him how to cook authentic food and stop...
