Leaving a live review as I sit here. So we walked in, myself and 3 children. Stood at the please wait to be seated sign for 5 minutes as staff walked past us. Eventually a young male server walked casually past and said sit where you like, wherever is free. So we head over to the window so the kids can watch the river, great excitement. Sat for further 20 minutes at a table that had not been cleaned off, had dirty glasses and cutlery on it, again staff walking past, including the young male server who had just directed us to sit wherever we wanted, with not one person asking did we need anything. Ended up cleaning the table myself. Eventually I walk up to the bar for menus and again the same young male server was the one to answer me. Pointed out where we were sat and he brought menus over. Asked if we would like drinks, I gave a very simple order of a jug of cordial and a lemon. Another 10 minutes waiting on drinks. I have to point out at this stage there is 4 wait staff and 2 behind the bar in the restaurant side is not full. Yes there are some larger groups, but not over busy for the amount of staff on. I had to ask for clean glasses when he eventually brought the drinks, ordered the food, 3 kids meals and soup for myself. Waited a further 20 minutes for that to come. All in all I am absolutely shocked by the dreadful i in here. Place is filthy and staff are walking around doing nothing. I am as easy going as they come, a mother of 3 makes you chill but bad service is bad service. I get this is the silly season and places can get overwhelmed but this is just a joke. Haven’t been in here in a while and if this is the service, I won’t be...
Read moreMy recent stay at The Bridge Tavern in Wexford was unfortunately not as expected, leaving much to be desired. Despite the anticipation of experiencing local charm and hospitality, several aspects of my stay fell short of expectations.
Primarily, communication prior to arrival proved challenging due to a non-functioning phone line. This lack of communication made it difficult to confirm details about my stay and left me uncertain about what to expect upon arrival. I had noted in my booking that my arrival time would be late at night and this was missed.
Upon arrival, the room I booked was disappointingly basic and lacked advertised amenities, notably an iron and ironing board. Additionally, the absence of artwork, which was visible in website pictures, significantly impacted the ambiance of the room.
Furthermore, issues with the key system caused inconvenience during late check-in and on room access on subsequent nights. While assistance was provided in gaining entry the following day, the reliance on physical key return highlighted flaws in the system.
In response to my concerns, the management offered a discount on a future stay, acknowledging the issues faced during my visit. However, as I do not foresee returning to The Bridge Tavern, I expressed a preference for a partial refund over a discounted stay - but I have not heard back from anyone at the The Bridge Tavern.
In conclusion, while The Bridge Tavern may offer potential for a pleasant stay, improvements in communication, room amenities, and key systems are necessary to ensure a more satisfactory...
