We were in a camping holiday in Clonakilty and headed out for some food and drinks on a Saturday night. 2 adults and 3 kids. We couldn't reserve a table the guys said just pop down, we got a table around 7pm, we didn't want to go late as we know it would get busy later. The staff are really nice, the Beamish and all drinks were fine. It's a lovely bar. The food was ok then again the prices are reasonable too . I think all places are cutting corners a but since reopening, at least we got that feeling. I understand and it's great to see places open and people working but still portions could have been better.
My burger was good usually safest cheapest option anywhere., the curry was alright, tasted a bit McDonald's ready mix style and not a lot of chicken. My daughter got a stir fry that was 15 euro and it was a small portion, kids burger was fine . My son got a wrap from the main menu around 9 euro. It was skinny enough and not a lot of bacon in it. Hit and miss!!! Look it is what it is, alright pub food at an alright price in a nice...
Read moreCasey’s Bar and Restaurant in Clonakilty is a delightful spot for a meal, offering a warm and traditional Irish setting that exudes charm and character. Despite being locals, we thoroughly enjoyed the inviting atmosphere, which made for a lovely dining experience.
The food was impressive, with the roast turkey and ham standing out as particularly delicious. Meals were served quickly, which was ideal for our hungry group. The kids' meals, while tasty, were on the smaller side and a bit pricey, but this was a minor point in an otherwise enjoyable visit.
What truly set Casey’s apart was the exceptional staff. Friendly and attentive, they ensured our needs were met throughout the meal, adding a personal touch that elevated the experience.
Overall, Casey’s Bar and Restaurant is a wonderful choice for a hearty meal in a classic Irish setting. While minor improvements could be made to the children's offerings, we left feeling satisfied and well cared for. Highly recommended for both locals and...
Read moreWow what a delightful warm welcoming not only for me and Cecily but for Zoe as well. Zoe was woofingly pleased to be given a bowl of water and her favourite doggie treats as soon as we sat down. We were there for lunch and chose to share the vegetarian samosas, 4 of them. Delicious! I went for my favourite beef lasagne whilst Cecily dug into her fish that came with 2 bowls of small crispy tasty chips (me and Zoe sneaked some from her too). The atmosphere looked great and there were lots of memorabillia around to read or investigate. All in all a great experience, highly recommended. When we left we were not surprised to see the plaques on the outside wall proclaiming Caseys as the national and regional 2022 pub of that year. I'd say its about time the judges came back and awarded it those titles...
