DeBarra's Folk Club — Restaurant in West Cork

I found it to be very clicky so found the staff didn't have a lot of time for new customers choosing instead to speak with other staff and locals. They have a small selection of craft beers, mainly from Cork and are pricier than most by about €1 per beer which is a lot. Saying all that, there is a nice atmosphere here mainly due to the customers. I've had many an enjoyable conversation with locals and tourists alike. It's very old world charm with a bit of a contemporary feel to it due to the great music venue out back. The walls are adorned with photographs of many famous and not so famous musicians who have played here. The toilets are a massive let down. I shared a table with 3 ladies who asked if they could sit at the spare seats. They were disgusted by the smell coming from the gents. They try to make up for this by burning a scented candle all the time, but it's obviously isn't working. OMG what a cool pub! We were passing and heard music and went in a side entrance, we ended up in the back bar where there was a great band, lots of dancing/standing room, there is a beautiful (smoking) outdoor area with fairy lights everywhere, the service was good, I was really impressed, or thought I was, it was on the way out the WOW FACTOR hit, the bar is amazing, so many interesting things, every where I looked I was saying "omg, look at that...wow" (FYI I'm not a very WOW/expressive person-I'm Irish, not American!!) Next time in down there that's my first port of call, it's a credit to the owner/staff hiely recommended 👌 👍...
