I love this place! It’s really laidback, the staff are all friendly & helpful. I struggle to eat at pizza places because of the risk of cross-contamination, here they change gloves & use separate tongs to pick the ingredients up. They have an ever-changing vegan pizza & I’ve been able to make a couple of changes to the pizza without any worries whatsoever & they’re always taken care to make sure it’s right. My husband has had two different pizzas (the black dog & a salami one) which he enjoyed thoroughly. He’s trying to work his way though the menu. Our 5yo loves pizza but has recently decided he doesn’t like cheese on his pizza so we order it with less cheese and he loves it. The staff are also kind enough to indulge us & call it a “pizza pizza” (it’s what he asks for now he doesn’t like pizza 🤫) when they deliver it to the table. I love their Peel Breeze which uses alcohol from Fyonderee distillery in Ramsey. My husband alternated between the various local beers & Fyonderee gin & tonics. Our son loves the apple juice drinks they stock. It’s welcoming and inclusive, the toilets are all-genders & (this is very important to me) it genuinely feels like a LGBTQIA+ safe space. I’ve always been respected whenever I go there, the staff treat everyone the same & that’s with courtesy, dignity and respect. Can’t recommend this place enough!

Was on holiday in the Isle of Man and went to this place for some pizza. We were late arriving and the kitchen was just about to close, the staff were very friendly. They had a bit of banter with us about being quick to order because the kitchen was closing. Was a lovely introduction to the place. We ordered a pizza and sat and watched the live music while we waited. The place had an almost 'fall out' vibe to it (video game reference). Some of the furniture was made out of upcycled wooden pallets. The music wasn't great, but it created a nice vibe. After about 10-15 mins, our pizza was ready, and we decided to take it along to the harbour and eat it. That was a mistake. Despite it being a lovely pizza, it required a knife and fork. It had no integrity whatsoever. Very thin and floppy (for lack of a better word). But I have to say, It was a very tasty pizza. Just a struggle to eat with your hands, sitting on a peer. I would go back and next time I'll stay for a drink. I'll give the food 3 stars as for me pizza should always be able to be consumed on the go.

I was a hapless tourist cycling up from Port Erin to Cronk y Vaddy for a view of the Manx Grand Prix race. Upon returning to Peel, my eBike registered 2 miles capacity while the route over South Barrule was expected to be 15 miles. Despite a busy crowd and live music at the Black Dog Oven on a Sunday evening, the manager graciously invited me in and allowed me to charge up my bike. The Queenie pizza was fabulous, the people were great, the music was terrific and the staff were stellar. Thank you so much! Without your hospitality, it would have been a long walk back through a dark night while pushing a heavy bike up over the southern mountains of Man.

We spent last Saturday evening at the Black Dog Oven for one of the most joyful experiences we’ve had since moving from the Seattle area to Germany in summer, 2021. I thought I was obstructing the kitchen entrance while waiting for my drinks at the counter. I excused myself when a gentleman tried to enter the kitchen. He kindly asked what I needed, but I explained I thought I was in the way. He said one of the best things anyone has ever said to me in my 56 years. “You’ve every right to be here.” Later, we discovered the gentleman was the legendary Pizza Mike of a child’s drawing pinned to the bulletin board just outside the kitchen.

We ate two delicious pizzas while being entertained by the fantastic live music and the antics of the crowd packed with families and friends.

My Irish mother always told me how her Manx grandmother-in-law was her favorite because of her kindness and humor. Those characteristics have been on display everywhere here during our week long visit. That’s above and beyond the natural beauty and excellent local cuisine of IOM.

Thank you all for your warm...

Saturday night, restaurant with signs sponsoring pizza and saying they are open until 11pm. We go in and ask to order two pizzas at 9:40pm, everyone around us had hot pizzas, in front of us they were laying out and baking pizzas and we are told that the kitchen is closed. I politely ask if it was possible to have them since my girlfriend and I had not had dinner, and although they were literally rolling out pizzas and continuing to work in front of our eyes we are told by a girl that it was not possible. This is no way to welcome the few tourists who come. In any case, huge disorganisation on the part of the managers, you can't put up signs saying they are open until 11pm and then stop accepting orders out of the blue from 9.40pm. Very rude in general, given that if the kitchen had really closed just when we ordered (which is strange given that they were still rolling out pizzas) they could have made a small exception as we were literally begging for it, and in addition, to avoid disappointing the customers, it would be fair to point out the time the kitchen closed. Very rude, very much not...
