The Creek Inn — Restaurant in Peel

Ate at The Creek Inn while visiting Peel & the Isle of Man in our Motorhome. Menu is a bit hit & miss with the older menu posted by previous reviews showing more choice. We struggled to find something suitable so opted for a summer burger & lasagne both of which were perfectly ok & reasonably tasty. The chips however weren’t great, there were a few chunky chips on top hiding a bucket full of bitty ends of chips.

Someone else said in the reviews that portion sizes were way too big? Not sure if they’ve reduced the portion sizes in response or if they are the same size, but I’d say for the money the portion sizes are far from being big & just adequate & I say this as someone who doesn’t particularly have a big appetite.

I've visited this establishment multiple times, but sadly in recent visits, the standards have dropped. On my last visit it was freezing cold, everyone sat with their coats and hats on, I asked them to put the heating on but was told it was on, and that it just doesn't work. The food was also not great, which is a shame as it has been in the past, as part of my meal I ordered a 'Cous Cous Salad' which was bland and served hot, which I felt strange for a dish normally served cold. The staff also were not very attentive on this visit. After eating here on a couple of occasions, I can say the food is average to poor - it really depends on how busy the kitchen is.

The last time I ate here there was some wait before the orders arrived. When they arrived, they arrived very staggered / spaced out, with long waits in between. The food was also in some cases not correct or half cooked - needless to say a few plates went back, leaving another wait.

To cap this experience off, when members of our group tried to order a drink at the bar, the (presumably) manager/landlady loudly expressed her discontent, shouting "can I not get a f@!*ing minute to myself!".
