Why 4 and not five stars? Well, a few reasons. Although the service was very good, the food was just okay. I ordered the vegan breakfast, which cost โช71 for what you see in the pic. I was full at the end of the meal. We asked for another basket of bread and jam and we got one at no charge. The waiters and hostesses were real kind and courteous and cooperated with one another. The dishes were fresh and made with care. The vegan eggs tasted pretty close to what I remember the original to be. So thatโs nice. But the rest of the meal was so-so. The hummus side dish wasnโt spiced up, so it tasted โstore bought.โ The cauliflower in tahini could have been sprinkled with cumin or paprika. The avocado could have been given a little twist if it were seasoned with lime juice rather than the usual lemon juice. The babaganoosh also tasted somewhat regular, like the packages you buy in a store, and could have used oven-baked garlic. A nice new treat was the skordalia, a Greek garlic/almond/potato dip, which Iโve never tasted before - and liked a lot! The coffee was good - but not great. Now - the menโs bathroom was clean and tidy - but stunk! How much does a stick of incense cost? For a breakfast restaurant with a good reputation like Benedict and with such generous customer service, I donโt feel that I got my moneyโs worth. There was nothing special or unique or even unusual about the flavor of the food. But I admit, I like my food savory. And when I go to a restaurant, I want to taste dishes that I canโt do or just donโt do at home. Another saving grace was the choice of music and the volume it was...
ย ย ย Read moreHad a great time. The place is packed on Saturday mornings, so we had to wait for 30 minutes before we could sit. The place follows all COVID-19 regulations. Sat at the bar and had a great and friendly service. We had the mushrooms and the roshti for appetizers. The mushrooms were good and so was the cheese on them, but the balsamic vinegar on top was a little off-putting. It was good but the balsamic didn't feel like it contributed. Maybe a balsamic reduction would do a better job. The roshti was great. Crispy on the outside and warm on the inside. Than I ordered the eggs Benedict with ham and bacon. Everything was cooked perfect. The eggs could use a little more salt, but other than that everything was on point. Even the small salad that came with the dish was good and felt super fresh. I wanted to get a Bloody Mary, but the bartender suggested that I take something else. I don't know if he was right, but the cocktails that he made me was great. Gin with mint and lemon. I don't know. It was sour and refreshing and delicious. I definitely recommend this place, but try and make a reservation or come and be ready to...
ย ย ย Read moreUnfortunately a big disappointment! We arrived specially for breakfast at 12 o'clock. There were three of us , at 12:27 hostess said that a table on the patio in the shade will be somewhere in 30 minutes ... after 30 minutes we were told that there are tables only in the sun, we waited another 10 minutes and decided to sit in the sun to try .. Of course, at 13:20 it is already very hot and when we saw empty tables in the shade we were surprised. Asked our waiter why you have a table in a shade and you canโt transfer us ? โYes, of course Iโll arrange for you now ... โ another 10 minutes passed but neither the waiter nor the shadow was offered to us, although the tables were still empty! Insulting and not pleasant !!! But when we got some burnt pieces on the beacon and raw burger it was the last straw of disappointment !!! Is not worth it going there !! No pleasure, especially when you drive for an hour especially to visit this place! Sad !!! Some...
