Read moreI stumbled upon this place on the way to another restaurant and decided to eat here. It was probably the best decision I ever made in Tel-Aviv. We didn’t have a reservation but was able to sit down at the bar fairly quickly. It might be worth making a reservation beforehand. The food which is Italian (tapas style) was some of the best tasting Italian cuisine I’ve had. I put it in my top 10 favorite restaurants that I’ve eaten in around the world. It was so good that I almost never get anything from the desert menu but since everything else was amazing I had to try the cheesecake. Wow is all I have to say. NY style cheesecake with a tiny thin layer of pistachio on the top. I’m drooling just thinking about it and writing this review. Next time I go back to Tel-Aviv it’s not even a question is if I will go back to this restaurant but how many times ! I can’t remember the bartenders name that helped us but he just added to the whole experience. Thank you for such an...
Read morePros: Good service. Food variety. Tasty dishes for the most part. Lots of wine to choose from.
Cons: Horribly (HORRIBLY) overexpensive at anywhere from 40-60 NIS per dish, especially when each dish is rather small. If you come hungry, you will probably need to order 2-3 dishes to be satisfied, which translates to around 130 NIS before alchohol and not including service.
Unfortunately, the dishes served are not particularly tasty, especially for the price. They are made from quality materials but the seasoning is dull and does not complement the cooking ingredients.
Ultimately, what ruined it for me was the price. If it was 20% cheaper i wouldn't have minded the quality of the food or the amount per dish. But as it stands, I cannot recommend Cicchetti unless you are just in the mood for a light snack with a friend and don't mind spending some money (I must stress this out, the food is not bad, not bad at all, just not good enough to...
