We started on a good note, a party of 8. the place seemed nice, we arrived at 17:50 and were seated 10 minutes before out 6pm reservation. The service was fine, but very slow. The first courses arrived in a timely manner, and were fine. Then, there we waited. And waited, and waited for the main courses to arrive. Almost 30 minutes passed and then we got our plates. My dish of pasta with chicken was a bit bland. Others were tasty. Then we finished eating and waited for the waiters to clear our table. And waited. It was slow, but ok. Then, suddenly the manager came to our table, accusing us of not wanting to leave, saying that the 7:30pm reservation had arrived. He was totally accusatory, did not take any responsibility for the mess up. He accused us of knowing exactly how much time had passed and delaying on purpose. I told him that we weren’t even served deserts menu, and he said that we were. In a blink of an eye, a calm evening transformed to a major disappointment for all of us. There were so many better ways to handle this, like letting us know of the time. Asking us 15 minutes about deserts and coffee, but no. All was on us and the owner was obnoxious.
TL;DR - nice dinner for a party of eight, abruptly ended and we were thrown out, while being accused by the owner...

The kitchen was busy smoking pot just outside the restaurant when I visited. My starter was OK, though I suspect they use an inferior brand of sardine as it tasted more like canned tuna. It was well plated and OK. My main course had a long black hair I suspect from one of the cooks who was high and had a long black ponytail. I sent it back and asked for my bill. I get it, things happen, but to my surprise the entree was still on my bill. They offered to remake it, I declined and did not raise the issue of still paying for the cook's pasta alla hair. I left a 15% tip because my server did her job and was pleasant, but I won't be returning nor can I recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the area. There's a charming family owned Italian eatery about 1000 meters down Ibn Gabirol Street that I enjoyed much more called Amore Mio that I can recommend if you're looking for...
Read moreI have reviewed this restaurant before, so this is an edit. I just had to do it again. The previous review was too short... I can't remember the number of times I visited Olivery but one thing is for sure: They keep the high standard I expect from them for years! I have learned about the place about 7 years ago and the dishes I had and re-ordered - came out just as good as they were before. The menu changes a little, and the good stuff is always there. As always I start with two focaccias and the Caprese salad, along with cauliflower gnocchi, add to that a good bottle of wine and main dishes like pasta carbonara, pappardelle with ham and asparagus, campanelle with bits of beef fillet, pappardelle with salmon and last was quattro formaggi ravioli. We concluded the meal with tiramisu (different than what I am used to here, and I liked it a bit less) and good coffee... This is a certain "YES! I will visit again, and again, and again" review. If you haven't yet - don't...
