Great place for a romantic date or just a laugh with friends, with an oriental chic. Booking is advisable if you're a large party. Food selection is impressive for a bar, quality is above average (though not earth shattering). Prices are mid-range - around 40-50 for starters and 60 nis+ for most main dishes. The place is non-kosher, mostly meat-based but there are vegan/vegetarian options. The cuisine is mainly oriental/Middle-Eastern with plates like Arayes, Siniya but also some Indian food and even fish & chips. There's a nice selection of cocktails. Service is friendly though not always bery efficient. The waiter had spilled Coke on our table and legs by mistakes and we hot free chasers as compensation which I think is fair. Shaffa Bar and the neighboring places (Akbar, Puah and others) are very lively, even in a Friday afternoon. The atmosphere is great, you are bound to enjoy your visit and the oeople are always colorful and interesting. If you need to have a deep conversation this may not be the best venue as there's a DJ plsying loud music. Parking spaces nearby are tricky to find so in some cases it's worth venturing out to Jaffa Port gor the free...
Read moreA great experience of food, music and atmosphere. Shaffa is an Israel word meaning and good looking woman. Most of the tables are set outside with an amazing Turkish music ban on the inside and some tables as well. Even if you don't know Turkish music you will get into the hypnotic beat and go with the flow. We sat outside and had some great food. A form of Mexican quasadia with meat in the middle, greek chicken, and surprisingly good pizza. A great choice of beers top of the meal. The sidewalk is busy with people in the evening and is great for people watching fans. The prices were very reasonable and no cover for the band. After our meal we went inside and enjoyed the music and the people dancing about in a very relaxed and joyous mood. Situated in the historic Jaffa area adjacent to Te Aviv I also recommend a walk about in the day time as the area transforms into another place with stores and...
Read moreWe arrived at the flea market area in Jaffa on a rainy day! We took shelter in a restaurant, and apparently fate invited us to an experiential morning 😄 The hostess seated us at a table for two located under the shed, so we enjoyed sitting inside the restaurant with the feeling of sitting on the edge of the street. We ordered shakshuka and salads, we got the food very quickly, even though the restaurant was full. The food was very tasty and rich. We asked for more tahini and bread and we got it right away! The appropriate music blended well with the rain in the background and the voices of the diners. It was a fun experience, we will come back again! Not only to take shelter from the rain, but for the food, the service and...
