Sultan Ibrahim — Restaurant in Tel-Aviv

Aah ! The Sultan ! You would be hard pressed to find a glorified fish and chippery that delivers the KISS principle as good as this establishment. After 4 weeks of touring the Eastern Med , we found this little gem tucked at an unprepossessing site on what could best be described as Jaffa's 'Eat Street'. They do fresh seafood , they do it simply , they do it well and they do it at a very affordable price ( especially in Tel Aviv ! ). A ceviche to start , followed by some pan fried bream fillets - accompanied by twirly Dutch fries - and the piece de resistance : deep fried baby red mullet ( known colloquially in this part of the world as Sultan Ibrahim ). Throw in a simple salad , a glass of house dry white ( Chablis-like and a wonderful match with the fish ) and a bottle of Israeli craft beer - which the hostess went to the next door shop to get for me - and we had a meal that Poseidon would have relished. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sultan Ibrahim, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The ambiance was warm and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a relaxed meal.

The fish was absolutely fresh and cooked to perfection. Every dish was bursting with flavor, and the presentation was impeccable. The Salad& Barbonia dish and grilled fish was a standout for me – it was truly unforgettable!

The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and made excellent recommendations, ensuring we had everything we needed. The attention to detail and the genuine passion for food really shone through.

This is a Hidden Gem! I don’t know why it’s not flooded with people. Just one word to describe it: Fresh. They’re known for their fish sandwiches, grilled/fried fish, and other seafood. I got the shrimp hot plate. Everything was so flavorful full of spices and each bite had an amazing kick. It’s almost as if you’re tasting the entire Mediterranean. Just fresh and zesty like I like it. The seafood was just outstanding quality and it was Great value.

As far as service goes, the owner is female and she made me feel so at ease and so at home. Just saying woman to woman she was fierce and a kind soul. Thank you for your hospitality.
