Trattoria Casa del Nespolo — Restaurant in Aci Castello

This is the most terrible place i've ever been to. It shouldn't be allowed to call this place a restaurant or trattoria in the beginning!

From the outside it looks really nice. A view over the harbour in Aci Trezza. But this is literally the only positive thing i can say about this horrible place.

I ordered the risotto a la marinara. You should think that they would be serving fresh fish and good risotto, but this is far from true. The seafood was absolutely disgusting!! Horrible looking mussels, shrimp tales (without the actual shrimp flesh), nasty squid! The risotto itself tasted like nothing.

The food and service was amazing. My friends and I were very amazed that the seafood that we ordered tasted sooo fresh and well seasoned. Specially the calamari and mussels. 10/10 for the food. I unfortunately don't remember the older man who served us (I think his name is Giovanni? Not 100% sure), but he was kind and sweet. The service was definitely 10/10 as well. Overall, we just had a great time in there and I definitely recommend this place 100%.. Please help out local restaurants and try them even though it looks empty inside, you won't know the food and service they provide until you actually try...

The only good thing in this place is that they have nice views on the port. The food is mediocre, the staff is pushy, the prices are high and the receipt only shows the total with no further details. We went on a slow night, and were the only ones in the room, the owner and a couple of friends decided to watch TV at high volume as if they were in their living room. Not the most romantic mood.
