First time we tried without reservation. It was full, the atmosphere lasemed I credible and many apparently local Italians were filling the place. We felt this was confirming the good reviews. Next we made a reservation a few days later for dinner. The service was quite cocky and arrogant, even if we spoke Italian the kept on speaking English which emphasized that we were tourists and being treated as such. We ordered battuta/Carne cruda and vitello tonnato and next tagliatelle with just butter and truffels and the pork steak with barbecue sauce. The vitello was swimming in the sauce and so did the pork steak, making it impossible to taste the meat. The pork was quite overcooked. The carne cruda was topped with so much parmigiana that it had to be put aside to taste the meat. The tagliatelle was cooked so poorly - partly it is was overdone and in addition there were lots of lumps of pasta sticking together. It also seemed to have been the broken left over of pasta. No way I could twirl it around a fork. Probably that's why they gave me a knife with my pasta. Not that I needed cutting but to get it onto a fork. When I mentioned and showed the lumps of pasta that I had not eaten, she took our plates away and shouted to the rest of the staff that the pasta was not properly cooked. But she said nothing to us. Nothing was done, said and no discount on the bill. It seems this place only appreciates the local Italians, and definitely not tourists. And the do not only serve them poor food, rip them off but also make you feel it, such unfriendly and arrogant service.

Warm, romantic restaurant with excellent food. The pasta was superb and my husband loved his beef in sauce with polenta. Very reasonably priced and a wonderful experience. Staff was caring and spoke some English. They do have menus in English as well. Our favorite meal of the trip so far!

Bad experience, would deserve 0 stars

We ate at this restaurant and ordered truffles. We were told the price was for 2g. We asked twice if the price was really for 2g, which was confirmed. In the end, however, it turned out that the price was calculated per gram, which made the bill twice as expensive in the end!

We were also charged €10 for a glass of wine - far too expensive. It seemed like they were deliberately trying to rip us off as tourists who don't speak Italian. When we tried to resolve the problem, the staff even threatened to call the police! Absolutely unacceptable behavior that ruined our whole evening. If you want to be treated fairly as a tourist, you should definitely avoid...

Would deserve 0 Stars!!!

I am absolutely furious with my recent experience at this restaurant. We ordered truffles, and the waiter clearly stated twice that it would cost €3.50 for 2 grams. However, at the end of our meal, we were charged €3.50 for just 1 gram. This is blatant rip-off! When we raised the issue, the waiter insulted us in Italian in front of the entire restaurant. This level of rudeness and dishonesty is unprecedented for me in Italy. It appears we are not the only ones who have encountered this issue—many other reviews mention similar experiences! I will never return to this place and strongly advise others to avoid...
