Really charming side walk dining with lovely view of the Piazza and the temples beyond although it is a busy road. Service was outstanding. Our food however came out cold. I ordered the spaghetti with raw prawn and bottarga. There was very little bottarga and because the pasta was cold the sauce was kind of gel like and the prawns remained raw through the dish. I don't mind sashimi but I don't think that is the intent of the dish. Normally the pasta is hot and the raw prawn us chopped finely so it cooks a little at your table not this time. Mark ordered the risotto with burrata and gamberi Rossa. Once again his risotto was not very hot though hotter than mine. Gamberi rosso was chopped much finer than mine so it was fine that it stayed raw. He enjoyed his meal though. I ate half of the pasta and left big pieces of cold raw prawn on my plate. When a darling little cat came begging for food she was happy to eat up my raw seafood so it didn't go to waste. The grilled vegetables we ordered was great, cooked perfectly and piping hot which makes me think it was a timing thing. They forgot the veggies and had to add after which is why our two primi courses were cold.

This was one of the main highlights of my trip in Sicily. The flavors are incredible and the street terrace setting is both beautiful and easy going vibe with a lively atmosphere. Not even accounting for the well balance prices of the site vs its flavour. The dishes are outstanding. The only downside is that you cannot try them all at once, which means you will want to return again and again. The melanzane tart was full of flavor, perfectly cooked, tender yet with a nice crunch. The octopus salad, though simple, was the freshest and most flavorful I had in Sicily, far above the others I tried. Choosing a highlight between the risotto with raw shrimp and burrata or the ravioli with pistachio sauce is impossible as both were exceptional. Desserts, however, felt less memorable. The ones I tried were simple and lacked the same quality and local character that made the main dishes so remarkable. Perhaps opting for simpler dessert choices would work better. Overall, Osteria Expansificio is a must-visit for its outstanding food, vibrant atmosphere and unforgettable flavors.

a must visit if you are in agrigento, great balance between value, artistry and flavour. all items ordered were of great quality, great portions, and great flavour. we were extremely surprised we were not disappointed by any of the things we ordered. the most memorable items were by far the aubergine pie, the sicilian rolls and the fillet of beet with pistachio cream. if you order them, you will not be disappointed. the couscous of pistachios is worth trying, very unique flavours and probably a one-of-a-kind dessert. aubergine pie - 11.00€ pappardelle with wild boar ragu - 12.00€ sicilian rolls - 12.00€ fillet of beef with pistachio cream - 22.00€ couscous of pistachios - 5.5€ calice di vino - 6.00€ caldo cocktail - 8.00€ viscoso - 9.00€ coperto - 7.50€ total for 3 = 93€

I didn’t like my experience at this place at all! The woman who handles the payment inside the restaurant was so so so rude! How can they deserve Michelin recommendation with such a terrible service…Alert for Michelin examiners!!

We came here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. There were not many choices on the menu, only one choice of primi. It was the WORST pasta I’ve had during the 12-day Sicilian trip.

The service was correct until it came to the moment of payment. The lady rudely made me understand that she only took cash. I was not prepared as it was our last day in Sicily and answered “oh sorry I don’t have cash”. That immediately fired the woman’s anger and started to yell at me in Italian, was she insulting me?? She was so annoyed based on her facial expression, which left me with no idea of what happened, what was wrong with her to treat me in this way?!

If you are so sick of tourists or people with other kind of faces and speak a different language, why did you choose to work at such a tourist location?

Please treat tourists correctly and show some respect!! we don’t deserve to be treated like this. Upskill your service with English...

I would rate this lower if I could. This is far from any other restaurant we have had at Italy.

Food: The food was outright bad. My main course was overcooked and lacked any discernible flavor. The ingredients tasted stale, and the dish was nothing like what was described on the menu. It was clear that little care was taken in the preparation.

Presentation: The presentation was equally appalling. The food was haphazardly thrown onto the plate, with no regard for aesthetics. It looked more like a hastily made home meal than something served.

Service: To add insult to injury, the staff seemed more interested in ripping us off than providing quality service. I did not touch one of the main courses and when I provided a honest feedback as why, the waiter just smiled as if I was joking. Then they took us to the back of restaurant and asked for cash

Overall, this failed on every front. The combination of bad food, awful presentation, and a dishonest approach to service makes this a place I cannot recommend. Save your time and money and choose somewhere else for a more pleasant...
