We booked this place on booking.com it was not our cheapest option but we liked the fact it had a private car park and it was right in the centre of Alba. ||We was told that if we went out in the car in the evening we would need the code for the car park, as we was not taking the car we did not write down the code. We went out and had a lovely meal at another local restaurant. We returned back at 11pm the cafe and shop was all locked up and there was no staff on site. We was not told this would be the case, but we tried the extra key which was on the key ring in all the doors, this didn't work. We then tried to call the phone number outside, which did not work. We did not want to spend the night on the door step of a hotel which we had paid good money to stay in, so I pushed the car park gate to try and get access to the rare of the building as I figured that the key must open one door into the built. I managed to open the gate a small amount but to small for me to get through, my wife did manage to get though the gap which coursed her to rip her Paul Smith shirt which I had got her a couple of months ago costing £200. My wife did manage to get access though a rear door which we was not told about. My wife was then able to get the code for the car park from the room and I was the able to get access. ||In the morning I went down to speak to the manager about our problems getting in and hoping the we could come to an agreement on compensation for the very expensive shirt damaged in trying to get access. |The girls which worked in the cafe were very apologetic for our polite of been locked out and said that we should of been told that we need the code to gain entry to the back door. |When the owner came to talk to me about us been locked out of a hotel which we had paid good money to stay in she had a attitude which seamed to not to care. She did not speak English and the one of the waitresses translated our conversation. |We passed on the the information given to us was incorrect and we was not told the place would be locked up after 9pm. She said she would talk with the girl working the night before and get back to me. |30 minutes later I returned from my room to inquire what she was going to do about the situation, she was very dismissive towards me, said the girl had told me and I was lying and and that we had ripped the shirt on purpose and she would do nothing. |In over 30 years in the restaurant and hotel industry myself I have never come across someone with such a disgusting attitude to...

Read moreHotel is situated central facing the cathedral and only 3 minutes walk from the turist information and the 3 Michelin star restaurant Piazza Doumo. Lots of shops within 10 minutes of walk, but no supermarked... I found a little shop in the main street where You can get big bottles of water.||Staff are young and helpfull. The room was big, and everything at a good standard. One thing - as always when You want to stay central - noise from the square. Cars are driving here and parking here, so forget about turning of the air conditioning and sleep with the windows open...||Breakfast is ok. Wifi as well. You will get access to a private parking nearby if You arrive by car. Not bad except...
