BUFALA - Porto Cervo - amazing food with cozy family style treatment

What a delightful atmosphere, no pressure, friendly and very welcoming service, beautiful view, and best of all, fantastic food. The menu is concise, proving that sometimes less is more. Everything we tried was above "excellent." A pleasant surprise after deciding to explore the area on foot following our flight and drive here.

We ordered a caprese salad with buffalo mozzarella and gnocchi. I think I could eat about eight of each option! To start, the caprese salad with this buffalo mozzarella was exceptional. Extra points for the mozzarella, one of the (if not the) most flavorful buffalo mozzarellas I've ever tasted. It paired perfectly with the well-seasoned tomatoes.

Then, the Grand Finale! Gnocchi with tomato sauce and buffalo mozzarella. The tomato sauce was simply incredible. I tried to get the recipe from the chef, who very friendly and playful, responded that he wouldn't tell me to keep it a secret and avoid competition.

Of course, now we'll have to come back to Bufala so we don't die of longing for this dish.

Oh, they also brought us a mini portion of buffalo mozzarella to try with the Aperol Spritz. Sensational. We'll take some back to the hotel to enjoy with wine.

In summary: if you're around here, you won't regret visiting BUFALA.

I'm glad I'm staying right next to them because walking distance I've found one if not the best pinsa (type of pizza) in the 4 years I've lived in Italy. Patrizia e Matteo, Siete Sublimi! Ogni volta che torno a Porto Cervo, c'è una tappa fissa che non posso assolutamente perdere: il locale di Patrizia e Matteo. Non è solo la vista mozzafiato sul mare a rendermelo caro, ma l'intera esperienza che i proprietari, con la loro incredibile allegria, simpatia e competenza, sanno regalare. Ti fanno sentire immediatamente a casa, come parte di una grande famiglia, e questo è un valore aggiunto impagabile. Ma veniamo al cibo, perché qui si tocca l'apice della bontà. Partiamo da un punto fermo: le loro mozzarelle di bufala sono le più buone del mondo. Non esagero, sono un'esplosione di sapore e freschezza che si scioglie in bocca.
