We DO NOT RECOMMEND going here. I am re writing this review because my wife and I came here on our honeymoon and had the most awful dinning experience, and the owner wrote back on her review saying that we have never been. The most disappointing thing was that the managing staff were awful (despite the other staff working hard) and did not want to hear our feedback. We waited 1.5hrs between starters and mains, the prawns actually tasted off (and we eat, cook and catch a lot of our own seafood and know what good seafood is). The calamari, prawns and scampi were chewy because they were overcooked. We were also able to order their local dish ‘sea urchin pasta’ that did not taste like sea urchin, and later found out it is illegal between May- October to harvest in Sardinia, so IF it was sea urchin it was not fresh/ likely imported. We were served authentic Italian food most, but not all, of the dishes invoked seafood and it didn’t disappoint, it was delicious.
The service was relaxed and welcoming. We had to wait for our order to be taken but the venue and the atmosphere meant that we didn’t mind at Al. Our waiter offered excellent advice when it came to picking between the dishes suggesting a sea urchin pasta to me which I really enjoyed.
The atmosphere again was very relaxed and pleasant I noticed a lot of Italian speaking people eating here which for a foreigner it always a good sign. (Eat where the locals eat)
I would highly recommend this restaurant and I will be...
