We had dinner here last Saturday to celebrate our friends baby’s birthday. The appetizers were very good! The gamberi con guanciale was so delicious and the crudités (scampi, oysters and red prawns) very fresh. Also the salmon “sashimi” was really yummy. As main courses we had the pork fillet, the entrecôte, the risotto with scampi and lemon and the linguine cacio&pepe with red prawn tartare and sea urchin. I was a bit disappointed by the mains. I tried all 4 but only the risotto was good enough for my taste. I mean also the other dishes were good but they had some defects. The pork was a bit too dry and there wasn’t fat part on it to make it a bit more juicy. In the linguine the cacio was too strong and couldn’t taste the sea urchin and the red prawn. The baked potatoes were tasteless and seemed done in the morning and not fresh made. After all we had also some desserts which were well presented and very tasty. We spent around 330€ which is not too much considering the location and the quality of...
Read moreWe ordered a bottarga and celery salad as an appetizer, and it was excellent (though I’d suggest asking for extra celery if you’re worried the bottarga slices might feel a bit heavy on their own). For the mains, we had Spaghetti alla Vongole with bottarga and grilled shellfish. The spaghetti was exceptional, I loved that the bottarga dressing was served separately, so you can add as much as you like!
The grilled shellfish, however, was just okay. I would have preferred if the shrimp had been cleaned up a bit more with the legs and whiskers trimmed so the plate looked tidier, and the overcooked black parts didn’t stick to the meat and add bitterness. Not sure the shrimp were at their freshest, as the meat was stuck to the shell and very difficult to peel. I’d take one star off for that.
The environment and service were both excellent. The waiter thoughtfully changed my shell plate several times before I even had to ask, and the view was...
Read moreDined here on consecutive evenings and our only regret was not finding it earlier in our short holiday! The food is excellent and, in the context of prices in the area, really good value. Wines are offered in half and 50cl bottles (as well as 75cl) which is a really nice touch and the staff are both efficient and friendly. My wife is learning Italian and Roberto - the owner- was really kind in encouraging her to both order and converse in the language whilst seamlessly switching to English (!!) to talk to me. He has the rare gift of making you feel as though nothing is too much trouble.... The restaurant itself is finished internally to a very high standard - no 1970's Italian decor in sight- and is situated on the seafront with a lovely terrace for al fresco dining. The only downside is it's closing shortly as the season in Sardinia winds down for winter. We intend to return next year and this place is one of...
