Osteria "Qui Se Magna" — Restaurant in Aristanis/Oristano

We only stumbled across this place by accident - after a little shopping spree - and were delighted to see such a - even thou small - but thoughtful menu. Fortunately they had a table available since the Restaurant seemed really popular. For appetizers we had a nice Limoncello Spritz with a Bruscetta mix (which had the traditional tomato spread as well as a DELICIOUS cheese version). Furthermore we ordered a mix salad which was nice and fresh. For the main course we ordered Pasta Cacio e Pepe (we ordered the smaller version) as well as a Zucchini Zuppa with beans, lentils and cabbage. The food was authentically Roman! For dessert we ordered a Tiramisu which was also delightful. The menu list is on the smaller side but I consider it a Restaurant's strength when they make few but amazing things. Antipasto: abbiamo scelto la ricotta di pecora, ma di pecora non aveva nulla. Talmente leggera da sembrare ricotta di latte vaccino.

Primi: la qualità buona, ma 12 euro per appena 100 grammi di pasta è un prezzo fuori mercato. In molte vere osterie romane, a parità di prezzo si servono porzioni decisamente più sostanziose (anche tra i 140 g e i 180 g). Qui invece la quantità è risicata e non giustifica assolutamente il costo.

Secondi: i “saltimbocca alla romana” erano due fettine di carne talmente sottili che sarebbero state più adatte come antipasto. Per di più, sul loro sito viene mostrata la foto di un piatto con tre belle fettine, mentre a noi ne sono arrivate solo due misere. Pagare 15 euro per una portata simile è davvero inaccettabile.

Carta dei vini: totalmente deludente. Abbiamo scelto un vino, ma non era disponibile. Ne abbiamo chiesto un secondo, anch’esso non disponibile. Al terzo tentativo ci siamo dovuti accontentare dell’unico vino per noi accettabile.

Servizio: lento e imbarazzante. Il cameriere che ci ha versato il vino ha sprecato una quantità considerevole (vino che noi abbiamo pagato), arrivando addirittura a usare un fazzoletto per non farlo colare ovunque.

Conclusione: per un’osteria che si definisce specializzata in cucina romana, l’esperienza è stata deludente sotto ogni aspetto. Avendo provato molte altre vere osterie romane, non posso dare più...

Overall I can definitely recommend going. Food was great and the staff was really nice. Two things that could be better: it was a bit warm inside during high season (August) and the food came a few minutes apart. But everything was very tasty, from the pasta dishes to the desserts.
