Il Desiderio — Restaurant in Bari

My family was in this place some days ago and it was very unpleasant experience. When you just come they give you olives and bruskettes (and didn’t say that you need pay for this), but you don’t oder this. Then you choose your pizzas for prices in menu, we choose 3 there preises is 6-7 euros. And anywhere they say anything about „taxes“, then weiter show me the „menu offer“ in the beginning of their menu and said that we MUST oder drinks for everyone (this is the rule of menu’s🤨). And in the end he came without bill and said that we should pay 44 euros, when I started showing preices he said sorry and comes in 5 minutes with price 38 euros. Then we had a little discussion with that guy, with other guys and one woman-customer (bc she knows english) and they give us every time different prices (38,34,33) and in finish 30 euros. Let me remind you that we oder just 3 pizzas for 6-7 euros and 4 drinks for 2 euros. That can’t be in any way 44 euros. That was very unpleasant and I think that they just tried to earn money on tourists. Pizza was normal, but we will never come back, so...

Avoid! This place is a scam. Unfortunately we hadn’t read the reviews before going here but like several others mention we were charged far more than we expected for food we hadn’t ordered and drinks we didn’t receive. We ordered 4 adult pizzas (€6-8 each), one child’s pizza, 3 small bottles of water (€1 each), (and expected to pay 5x€1.5 for covers as the menu stated) but were charged €65 when menu prices said it would be €46 for what we ordered.

Pizzas were ok, not at all best we’ve had in Italy.

We were just given a handwritten bill for €65 (nothing itemised) and when asked for an explanation told we’d been given 5 set menus which wasn’t what we’d ordered or received and would have only totalled €60 not €65 if we had ordered it. This place is a scam!! We had to wait 1,5-2 hours to get the order. After one hour waiting they said that my order was not available, so I had to choose something else. When they brought the pizzas one of my friends didn't get ham on her pizza so they just put it on the pizza afterwards. Moreover tomato sauce was missing of my pizza and when I complained about it, they said it's not correct on the menu and they can not bring me tomato sauce. When we finished, we didn't get a normal receipt, only a piece of paper with a written number on it. As we calculated, they wrote more on the paper that we thought we had to pay, so we ask about it from the waitress but she couldn't answer straight and made no sense what she said.
