Il Garibaldi — Restaurant in Bassano del Grappa

Food was very good. Service was poor. ( note… i saw other reviews that states the same … especially non Italian speaking tourists get bad service … note to owner to fix this. ) We started off with an appetizer of sardines. They were absolutely delicious! We had the bigola pasta with duck ragout and ravioli. Both dishes were absolutely terrific. Both the white and the red house wines were very good. The service was less than acceptable. Initial waitress ignored us coming in initially and then the new young waitress kept forgetting our drinks, forgot the bread with our meal and was a little inattentive. The tables next to us that spoke Italian seemed to get better service. A real shame giving them a three rating because the food was so good but the service...

Metto 2 stelle per la posizione del locale.... Appena arrivati in famiglia per pranzare all'incirca alle ore 12 praticamente 3/4 del locale vuoto dentro, abbiamo optato di mangiare fuori che c'erano circa una ventina di tavoli ,ma occupati forse un paio.... Ci siamo seduti si avvicina la cameriera e ci dice "Avete chiesto il permesso per sedervi ?" Cioè vi rendete conto cosa ci ha detto?!.... Come se per farci mangiare ci facessero una cortesia ..... E soprattutto senza pagare...ma stiamo scherzando?!... Anzi di dire un'attimo che mi informo se i tavoli sono prenotati.... Comuque siamo andati dentro a domandare il tavolo fuori...e non la cameriera se c'era posto fuori...il proprietario senza guardaci e mentre che faceva altro ci disse mettetevi dove volete... E da lì ci siamo seduti....eravamo 5 persone abbiamo ordinato degli affettati praticamente 2 porzioni e 4 crostini, e una bottiglia di acqua e 4 caffè quando ci ha portato il pane la cameriera,ci ha portato un sacchetto di carta chiuso con 3 paninetti ...lì capite che mi sento preso un po' in giro cioè ordino degli affettati che non discuto il quantitativo perché erano solo 2 porzioni .. ma neanche 1 paninetto a testa?!...gli diciamo se era possibile dei crostini al baccalà,ci viene risposto che per averli bisognava prendere un menù speciale...e per portarci un solo crostino quasi quasi mi dovevo mettere in ginocchio ..I 4 bicchieri sporchi e puzzavano. comunque finendo di mangiare e vedete voi quello che abbiamo preso...andando a pagare quelle 4 cose messe in croce il proprietario ci ha fatto pagare 60 € pago e se ne va.... E li gli ho detto scusi e lo scontrino?!... E me lo ha fatto....ora dico io per concludere... Capisco che tante persone vannolo stesso a mangiare lì perché come me sono arrivati lì per caso,ma la professionalità dove l'avete lasciata?!...ma a Bassano non esiste solo questa trattoria che si possono permettere di trattare le persone così ....e poi penso... chissà quando c'era il lockdown...e dovevano rimanere chiusi e poi solo da asporto se si comportavano così questi ristoratori...forse pregavano che venissero i clienti a portare i soldi. Ma ormai quello e una brutta storia del passato che velocemente questo ristoratore e la sua equipe...

1st. they didn't want to serve us because supposedly it was full, we saw many empty tables. 2nd we were a party of 10, they didn't want to put tables together, it was against the restaurant rule. 3rd we waited almost an hour to receive the food. 4th my 2 year daughter dropped a fork and we took a new one from an empty table. the manager came shouting at us that instead of grabbing it from the table we should ask her first. 5th The food was ok The only good thing about this Restaurant was a Spaniard waitress that helped us very well and understood our complaint.
