Ristorante Pizzeria Bernina — Restaurant in Bellano

I don’t know how to feel about this place, lemme explain. Food was decent, in fact good. The waiter forgot one of our orders and we patiently waited only to find it wasn’t coming. We decided to forgo the order since everyone else finished their food. No apology from the waiter, and that’s fine…but later when we went to sort out the bill we went to double check that the steak that did not arrive was not on the bill, something with the language barrier caused communication to not go well and the situation to get tense. Someone else from our group was sorting the details so I don’t know who was at fault and truthfully it seems like both parties were (we are American after all, but try hard not to be annoying). Realistically though I expected a little more professionalism and better temperament from the waiter staff, especially considering the person we were dealing with was experienced. The issue could have been sorted easily with a clear head and an attempt at good communication. Would I go back? Maybe. If I did I’d definitely order the rib eye and mussels. Sorry for the novel, I just look back at this place months later...

We went there beacause all the other places were full. The table next to us had spaghetti alle vongole so we had flies during all dinner. We ordered a bottle of wine and it came already opened, first time in my life I see this in a restaurant, usually the waiter opens it in front of you. Then we ordered an hamburger from the menu for my son, waiter came with 2 pieces of dry meat and one slice of tomatoe in a plate. When we said this is not what we expected and if at least we could have fries he said "now it's done you take it and if you want fries I will charge you an additional dish". Well thanks for being so understanding, you perfectly know what people are expecting when ordering an hamburger espacially kids, so if you want to be honest you can at least mention it when taking the order. Not to mention pizzas were average as I was not expecting much more from this kind of place and if service was ok it would not have been a big deal Should have buy take away pizzas somewhere else to eat in front of the Lake it would have been a way...

We had dinner at this wonderfully run, authentic Italian restaurant and were thoroughly impressed. The staff were friendly and attentive, making for a really pleasant dining experience. It's clearly a local favourite, as it seemed quite popular with the locals - always a good sign! Though we opted to sit inside due to earlier rain, there were inviting outdoor seating options available under umbrellas. We were pleasantly surprised by how reasonably priced all the food was, even tempted by the steak given its value. However, my choice of the seafood linguini was absolutely amazing, truly the best seafood pasta dish l've ever had!
