Me and my husband decided to eat here because we read a rewiev from another restaurant that said that you should come here instead to get good food. We were very disappointed.
On arrival I asked a table outside, and just got a rude response that outside is full. At first I thought it was a joke because there were only 1 person sitting outside and I didn't see any reservation signs. Waiter lead us inside to a table right next to kitchen entrance. The same table was also used by the waiters to handle customers orders / hand out menus and store leftovers from other tables.
We were only given one paper menu with no explanation what's included (menu was only in italian) and we didn't get any drinks menu. After the first guy who gave us the table we had 2 different waiters that were both very friendly and helpful, that is only reason why I can give this restaurant 2 stars. I told the waiter who took our orders that we didn't get any drink list, and he apologized for that and gave us a very good wine recommendation to go with our Angus beef.
Bread that came with our salami aperitivo was definitely some store bought quite dry-ish, nothing special. Also fried potatoes that came with the steak were definitely frozen and very mushy. The whole dish tasted like it had never seen any seasoning at all. Half of the steak was not edible. If we hadn't taken the starter, I would have left the restaurant still hungry. Wine was excellent, that's all. But not good value for your 70e. If you want good food, go to the restaurant just opposite of this, Che Pasta. You get great pizza for 8e and will leave happy...
Read moreTrattoria del Ponte in Bellano, Italy, is a hidden gem along Lake Como that I stumbled upon during a walk back to town, and it was such a delightful experience. The ambience was lively, with a mix of indoor and outdoor seating that captured the breezy, serene vibe of Lake Como—even though it was a bit cold and windy, some guests opted to enjoy the fresh air outside.
The staff were incredibly polite and helpful, which made the experience even better. I ordered the margherita pizza and pesto gnocchi, both handmade to order, and the flavors were fresh and rich. Every bite was authentic, with the pesto gnocchi standing out as a true testament to the region’s delicious offerings. If you’re in the Bellano area, this little trattoria is a must-visit for its welcoming atmosphere and fresh, handmade...

To start we got a basket of bread that was all dry and already standing there for some hours. Then for our main course we ordered the local grilled salted fish. There wasn’t any salt to find on the plate, it was blend and the only flavour you could taste was burned fish. The side dishes we ordered where potatoes, which actually where fries soaked in (old) oil also without any salt. And the other side dish was a “mixed” salad of which the mixed part were 3 half slices of tomato. To top it all of, the diner was accompanied by a playlist of EDM music which made you feel like you were at Tomorrowland instead of Italy. (One of the cooks also turned the volume up during the night.)
To summarise, don’t go here if you like good, tasty...
