Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with this place. I’m not claiming to be a bartender or a true expert, but this experience lacked everything: flavor, finesse, and visual appeal in the drinks. Perhaps someone was still in training, but then again, the person doing the training should take responsibility for that. Or maybe it was just an off day…

I ordered two classic cocktails, and both were quite poor. The Espresso Martini was missing that perfect balance of flavor, and the presentation was mediocre at best.

The Negroni? The taste was incredibly flat, and once again, the presentation left a lot to be desired. A proper Negroni is best served with a single large ice cube, not a handful of small ones.

That said, I can’t put all the blame on the staff. If you don’t have the right equipment, it’s hard to create something exceptional.

I’ll probably come back one day to see if things have improved, but for now, here’s why my review is so critical: the drinks here are €2 more expensive than in the center of Bergamo, where they’re crafted by experienced bartenders. Cinque stelle ad un locale strepitoso come questo, mi sembrano poche! Se volete un cocktail spettacolare, unico nel suo genere, che si adatti a tutti i gusti, beh siete nel posto perfetto! Il locale di per sé è piccolo, ma estremamente caratteristico essendo incastonato negli archi di pietra dei palazzi antichi del centro di Bergamo con un arredamento essenziale, curato, tutto in legno e che garantisce un'atmosfera calda e accogliente. La carta dei cocktail è ricca e ricercata, anche i cocktail più 'commerciali' e gli aperitivi sono presentati in una chiave gourmet, con proposte vintage e insolite rispetto a tantissimi altri locali. La punta di diamante, per quanto mi riguarda, sta nei signature cocktails che potrete trovare solo qui, firmati The Alchemist! Io ho provato Queen Elizabeth's tea e mi ha lasciata letteralmente senza parole: un bouquet spettacolare dato dal gin all'Earl Grey tea, mixato con erbe aromatiche e altri ingredienti particolari, mi è piaciuto moltissimo e ho apprezzato molto la cura e la disponibilità del barman nel consigliarmene un secondo, dopo semplicemente avergli dato un indicazione di gusto, ovvero secco e così ho avuto il piacere di degustare Vacanze in Normandia con una strepitosa vodka alla pere della Normandia con un retrogusto perfettamente secco dato dagli aromi e dalla tonica! Anche il servizio per il calice di bollicine è stato impeccabile dall'apertura della bottiglia nuova. Abbiamo apprezzato molto anche la piccola entrè offerta con due bicchieri di acqua aromatizza molto gradevole e uno stuzzichino. Alchimista di nome e di fatto, consigliatissimo se apprezzate l'arte della mixology e avete voglia di farvi coccolare da uno staff incredibile, talentuoso e molto competente!
