Vecchio Forno — Restaurant in Bergamo

We got here by accident, cause it was one of the few open places close to our rented home and couldn't do better. We sat outside, in a lovely, very intimate patio, beautifully decorated with lights and candles and secluded by the hedges around, so it didn't even feel like the middle of the street. We ordered pizza and pasta and both were very nice, made of good quality ingredients and well seasoned. To drink we chose half bottle of wine and it was a perfect choice. We paid for everything 39 euro(!), which is very, very cheap for this quality of food and service (the waitresses that served us were very polite and knowledgeable). One of the best restaurant in Bergamo, maybe even in Lombardy, big hospitality and very kind service, food was brilliant, typical Italian cuisine and great wine. It is real food travel around Italy. Ci sono andata per la prima volta con la mia famiglia, locale molto accogliente, personale molto attento, disponibile e sorridente, disposto ad accontentare il cliente. Vino mono porzione ottimo, anche la birra alla spina molto buona. Abbiamo chiesto un’antipasto di patatine e pancetta, nonostante non fossero nel menù hanno accontentato la nostra richiesta facendole fresche immagino al momento. La pizza fino ad ora per me, la migliore che io abbia mangiato a Bergamo (io e la mia famiglia siamo calabresi). Impasto leggero e digeribile, e dai bordi più o meno alti come piace a me. L’unica pecca, la pasta di mio padre che nonostante lui abbia mangiato comunque, avendolo detto alla fine, era salatissima, per me immangiabile.
