When I say this was the best meal in all of italy I had, I mean it.

My partner and I spent almost a month in italy. We went to rome, florence, sicily and bologna. We went to famous restaurants, Michelin star joints, and local treasures.

Both the meals we had here were absolutely amazing. With limited time in another country it's rare to return to an establishment but after having our first course we booked another reservation.

In the end we had the seafood pasta special, the ravioli, the ribs, the onion Ragu pasta, the suckling pig, and the mixed appetizer. Every single dish was amazing.

The ribs were the best dish we had on our entire vacation, and the suckling pig was possibly the best pork I've ever had.

Everyone who works here is wonderful, from the chefs to our server Leo.

Don't waste your time booking meals anywhere else in bologna, just eat your way...

This has been the highlight of our nearly month long trip in Europe. Family owned, this space has been a restaurant since the 16TH CENTURY. Clearly practice makes perfect, because this is the first 5/5/5/5 review I have given. Nothing to improve. Matteo and his father not only run a tight ship, but make some of the most delicious food I have ever eaten. My veal cotoletta Bolognese was beyond divine. Almost moved me to tears. And my partner’s risotto was reportedly heavenly. In a city with a lot of foodie tourist traps, this is a MUST if you truly enjoy comestibles. AND at the end, it was so late, we needed a ride to our Airbnb and Matteo called us a cab. These guys stayed up late for us beyond closing to take care of us. I want to hang out with them outside of the best meal ever. There is nothing more to say. This wins...

We discovered this restaurant after seeing Francesco's wonderful Bologneser artwork in the food market in central Bologna and we wanted to come by and pick up a print in person. We stopped by and the restaurant looked so warm and inviting that we decided we'd stay for dinner too. It's been our best dining experience in Bologna.

The service was excellent and the food, just delicious. The balsamic onions as part of the antipasti together with the ricotta cheese were so good! The pasta dishes were wholesome and tasty and both our meat courses left us feeling happy and full.

We came away feeling very satisfied, the proud owners of a piece of Bologneser artwork and enjoyed a great chat with Francesco and the rest of the team. We'd thoroughly...
