Incredible food, really really nice hosts too! The place is big (about 10 tables inside) and it has a back terrace covered with plastic, so you're half out in the open without any of the cold. The food and prices are really good, definitely want to go back! We had to reserve a table, since we were a big group (8-10) eating out on a Friday, and the whole place was booked solid! Food came really quickly and the wine of the house was also really good. The terrace was very loud, but maybe that had to do with how a couple of tables were celebrating birthdays. The only thing I really hated and would make me not go back (and makes me give only the 4 stars) would be the amount of smoke on the plastic-covered terrace. It was obvious that some people were smoking even if they shouldn't, and the smoke got a bit trapped so all of us were breathing in a lot of smoke. I personally have asthma so that smoke made me start coughing and wheezing a lot - I ended up finishing dinner, paying, and waiting outside across the restaurant from my friends, because the amount of smoke was really bad. The terrace was really nice but I'll have to stick to the indoor restaurant to maybe avoid so much...
Read moreWe where unable to tell if it was fresh mashed potatoes, but else, things was as expected for the price. Lot's of locals, we where the only English speaking in the back. No air-con, so er decided to sit outside - which was fine.
I'd like to point out, that they add a 4EUR coperto fee. I though it was normally to add a 1-3EUR fee, but 4EUR is a bit too much. I didn't notice it untill after, so they even got a bit of a tip on top, but hey, that's on us.
I've attached a few pictures.
The staff was clearly hard working. It feelt a bit chaotic, but, they tried to do their best to understand our order đ. We "mixed" a pasta and main-dish, but was eating them at the same time. As other pointed out, they didn't really understand our needs with "just a main, and some water", but we where not there to get a glass of wine...
I'd suggest you to ask for some oil or pesto for the bread. I didn't think of that, before we leaved...
Read moreVery nice look and fantastic personnel, to start with the positives. And, very remarkable as well, crescentine and tigelle are absolutely good - better than good: they are superior. Where the place fell short of expectations, this time, was in the selection of cuts accompanying them: salami, bacon and mortadella were good, ham not really impressive, lardo di colonnata surprisingly tasteless while it's normally one of the tastiest cuts you can get. Pesto montanaro as well was too little spices in too much fat. Last, the mascarpone had also whipped egg white inside and not just the yolk... which, I admit, it's a matter of taste, I utterly dislike it but somebody else may like it, just be aware. In a nutshell, with some more focus on the quality of the cuts the place could climb back to the five stars place I remember it used to be, at least for tigelle & crescentine eaters. This time they...
