Restaurant La Scarpetta — Restaurant in Bolzano - Bozen

Hands down THE best meal in the whole of sud Tirol area. Andrea, who is also one of the chefs explained each item on the menu, and it shows how much love and dedication he puts into each dish by the way he described them. We had the Carbonara starter which was a filo pastry nest with cream topped with crispy hot guanciale. The contrasting textures, ingredient temperatures played music to our taste buds! As a main I had a beef tagliata cooked to chef's recommendation and it was seasoned so beautifully! My partner had large ravioli filled with slow cooked beef and pork on a bed of creamed potato with leek. We obviously could not say no to dessert, especially after realising that the chefs know what real good food is, and learning that the make their own desserts too. My partner had the Birramisù - think tirramisù but beer instead of coffee - delicate and so yummy! I had the deconstructed cannoli with a lovely sheep ricotta with dark chocolate shavings on top and drizzled with a citrus sauce.

A definite must for anyone in/going through Bolzano. Book ahead as it's an intimate setting with only a few tables available.

I had a horrible experience here on a very rainy day. My flight had been cancelled and delayed. I was starving and without a car. I walked from the airport with my luggage to this restaurant- the menu was outside, the door open, I was wet and cold and exhausted. I waited at the door about 10minutes, no one came out but people were eating so I sat down to get out of the wind and rain. . A few minutes later a man came out of the kitchen and said “you can’t just come in here and sit down, we will not serve you, you have to wait at the door and say hello, good day, there is just one of me here today and I’m not interested in serving you”

Unfortunately the food looked very good and the people eating there were quiet kind and friendly but the cook/owner seemed rude and angry. Unfortunately I will never return as a result of the interaction. He was rude, mean and completely unaware of how long we had waited at the door without anyone coming out to greet us or allow us...

Posto carino. Sembra un po' una baracca ma è abbastanza curato ed ha una bella vista sulla pista dell'aeroporto! Peccato per il servizio che invece non è stato altrettanto carino! Prenotiamo un tavolo per otto persone ore 20! Arriviamo con dieci minuti d'anticipo. Siamo in 5, gli altri ci raggiungono con 10/15min di ritardo, il tempo di arrivare direttamente dal lavoro! Ci accoglie il titolare e prima ancora di farci accomodare ci chiede con fare inquisitore dove sono gli altri ed alla nostra spiegazione ci "sgrida " (che manco mia mamma al pranzo della domenica) perché il maialino è pronto e lui lo servirà alle otto come da accordi! L'inizio non è dei migliori! Alla fine però è così clemente da aspettare gli altri tre commensali e appena arrivano ecco che ci viene servito sto benedetto maialino! 25 euro a persona che comprendono carne, contorno (e forse dolce?..non l'abbiamo capito!) Abbastanza buono nel complesso ma porzioni assolutamente non abbondanti...anzi! Mentre stiamo ancora cenando viene al tavolo per dirci di fare attenzione, si è accorto che il coltello in cucina non ha più la punta e potremmo trovarlo nella carne! Poi visto che c'è inizia ad elencarci i dessert e quando uno di noi gli fa notare che stiamo ancora mangiando risponde sgarbatamente "non ti ho mica detto di smettere di mangiare"! Per farla breve: ore 20.15 inizio cena, ore 21.20 avevamo già finito portata principale e dolce! Servizio frettoloso e decisamente maleducato! Se cercate un posto dove passare una serata tranquilla in buona compagnia non è certo questo il posto che...
