MamaGina Bistrot & Restaurant — Restaurant in Brunate

We found this place on a very long evening walk and following reviews, but it wasn't possible to get a table without reservation that night. We decided to give it another chance and booked for the next evening and it was a beautiful experience. It was quite calm and quiet, very peaceful with stunning views above lake Como and tasty food that invites you already from the entrance of the hotel. The infinity pool was gorgeous to see in the evening, I would love to come back and stay at the hotel. We are not drinking so much and just ordered a glass of wine, not bad but wouldn't be my first choice. I tried the typical polenta which I usually don't like and it was probably the best I have tried. The best part of the experience was not the restaurant itself, but the surrounding nature which surprised us with few playing deers in the distance. Ho effettuato la prenotazione il giorno prima di recarmi a cena per le 20,45 in quanto ci tenevo trascorrere una serata in relax con la mia dolce metà e ho richiesto un tavolo vicino alla balconata con vista sul lago . Il giorno successivo alle 20,48 entravo al ristorante bistrot , ma purtroppo il tavolo con vista non era disponibile e gli unici tavoli liberi erano quelli arretrati in seconda fila che tra l’altro non erano ancora stati sbarazzati , quindi mi sono reso conto che nonostante la mia prenotazione un tavolo da me riservato non c’era. La cameriera prima guarda l’orologio e successivamente mi domanda se ho prenotato , certo rispondo ,e senza nemmeno rivolgermi un buonasera mi dice un attimo e lo preparo . Velocemente sbarazza il tavolo e poi passa una spugna sulla tovaglia di carta stoffa già utilizzata da un altro cliente , e mi invita ad accomodarmi , le faccio presente che per una questione d’igiene ed inoltre perché paghiamo il coperto sarebbe opportuno sostituire la tovaglia del tavolo con una nuova (forse non è tutta colpa sua ) . Intanto si fanno le 21,20 e finalmente sostituita la tovaglia riusciamo ad accomodarci . Dopo circa 10 minuti si libera un tavolo con vista sul lago e viene sbarazzato velocemente e rimpiazzato la cameriera gentilmente ci chiede se vogliamo possiamo cambiare il tavolo , accettiamo e finalmente mi viene assegnato il tavolo richiesto nella prenotazione . Alle 21,40 riusciamo ad ordinare , uno spaghettino al pomodoro datterino e basilico fresco e un vitello tonnato Mama Gina . Scelgo il vino , una bottiglia di Lugana la cameriera mi dice che è terminato ma se voglio c’è a bicchiere (sto’ ancora a pensare perché c’è solo a bicchiere ?) cambio scelta e opto per un chiaretto rose’. Prima ancora di servirci il vino arriva il pane che sapeva di raffermo e una pirottina senza coperchio contenente del formaggio grattugiato . Sono quasi le 22 e ancora non è arrivato nulla, nemmeno un piccolo stuzzico di cortesia . Ecco finalmente una misera porzione di spaghettini sostituiti da spaghetti alla chitarra e un vitello tonnato di sotto fesa , fibroso e veramente imbarazzante . Fortunatamente la vista è eccezionale e la persona che mi accompagna straordinaria .Decidiamo di non provare nessun altra portata , ci basta questo per decidere di non ritornarci mai più. Naturalmente mi reco al piano superiore del ristorante per pagare il conto tot . euro 64,00 ( 26,00 di beverage e 5,00 il coperto) nessuno mi chiede se è andato tutto bene , nel lasciare il ristorante nessuno ci saluta . We loved mama Gina, the view was gorgeous the food authentic and delicious and the service was top notch! Valentina was so kind and helpful, delightful to talk to as well, our server who I forgot her name was amazing too, my sister dumped pepper in her ravioli dish by mistake they replace the whole dish even though she was just trying to ask for a spoon to scoop it, with no hesitation our server said we will remake it.

Only downside that day was the bees outside, the moment we ordered sweet tea they swarmed our table but we moved inside and enjoyed our dinner.

Tiramisu was sooooooo good.
