We are Vegan. We did a wine tasting tour of Contini 1898 which was cool and being vegan, rocked up to go to the Etico across the square and it was closed. Walked into the Trattoria bar and asked if they could speak English. First guy couldn’t and the second could. He understood what we meant by Vegan (a challenge in Sardinia) and directed us to the restaurant next door. Essentially the same place, but a totally different set up and vibe. When he came out, he said he could ask the chef to make “vegetable pasta” which my wife went for. I asked if they could make “Spaghetti aglio e olio” which is my favourite pasta dish. He said he would check with the chef. Both dishes were incredible. Just perfect pasta and perfect balance of the accompanying ingredients. The pasta was top notch. Perfectly cooked, tasty and simply good pasta.
The fish however wasn‘t. Bitter taste for whatever reason. Also got the complete fish including entrails. Scampi was declicious.
