We came here due to good reviews, however we are very disappointed and surprised how they operate.

I asked for a shrimp and porcini mushrooms (which I love mushrooms) and they said (seems like the manager/owner of the place) “we can’t do 5 different dishes, we have a small kitchen” So I was forced to order what my friend wanted which was clams pasta and wasn’t even that tasty.

After the 5 pastas arrived in decent time, me and my friend realised that our pasta doesn’t taste. Probably they guessed that the clams will be salty but they didn’t test it, so we had completely raw plain pasta and you couldn’t taste the clams at all. My partner who is not a chef did this many times and way better.

When we asked for more water, the waiter didn’t even react or anything and we weren’t sure did they hear or ignoring us. But later on water did thrown to our table.

As we have hospitality background, we were shocked how they left dirty dishes on a clean table and for over 10mins! (See photo)

We left without having desserts to not be experience this place...

Questo era il mio ristorante preferito tra quelli delle città vicine. Venivamo qui apposta da Grammichele per pranzare o cenare bene. Ottimi i calamari e le cozze. Il mio piatto preferito era la pasta ai frutti di mare.

Ma quello che è successo il 23/07/2025 mi ha completamente delusa e mi ha tolto ogni voglia di tornare. Ero con mio fratello minore. Abbiamo ordinato per lui i calamari con patate, per me la pasta ai frutti di mare e delle bevande.

Mi hanno portato una pasta che non conteneva neanche un gambero, solo una cozza e un mucchio di pesce. Io ho ordinato pasta ai frutti di mare, non pasta al pesce. L’ho fatto subito presente all’uomo che lavorava lì (credo fosse il padre del proprietario). Mi ha detto che i gamberi erano finiti, che gli dispiaceva, e se n’è andato.

Va bene, ho deciso comunque di assaggiare. Ma la pasta era spessa, fatta in casa, storta, e di qualità molto bassa — non le classiche linguine sottili e buone che ci si aspetta. Anche su questo, il cameriere avrebbe dovuto avvisare prima.

Dopo il primo assaggio, ho detto di nuovo al “padre del proprietario” che non mi piaceva e che non volevo mangiarla. Lui, seduto davanti a me, ha fatto un gesto con le mani e non si è nemmeno avvicinato, ha solo urlato alla cameriera di portare via il piatto.

Ho detto che non volevo nient’altro e che avrei mangiato i calamari con mio fratello.

Alla fine della serata ho chiesto il conto. Il cameriere mi ha fatto pagare e ho chiesto se la pasta era inclusa: mi ha risposto di sì. Alla mia domanda “perché?”, mi ha detto che dovevo parlarne con la direzione. Quando mi sono voltata per cercarli, i due “amministratori” erano già saliti al piano di sopra, mostrandomi le spalle. Forse era il loro modo di dirmi che non volevano parlare e che dovevo andarmene.

Ok, ho pagato quei 16 euro per una pasta disgustosa. Ma non lascerò più neanche un centesimo in questo posto. Né io, né chi mi conosce.

Anche se la pasta non fosse stata buona, non avrei scritto questa recensione se non fosse stato per il modo in cui mi avete trattata. Spero che in quella sera non mi abbiate trattata così solo perché parlo male l’italiano o perché si vede che non sono italiana?

In ogni caso, non consiglio questo posto a nessuno che cerca un servizio decente. Una volta ti servono bene, un’altra ti...

Very good location in a beautiful Caltagirone downtown. Rates acceptable. Meal tasty. Atmosphere, decor dull. Absolutely unacceptable personnel, unpleasant, impolite (one waiter especially). No one among personnel speaking basic English, at least. The bill delivered as a handewriting pencil's note of a total price, only. When asking about details, very unkind waiter presented similar handwriting sheet of paper with some figures, where we found one position different from our order.
