While the ambiance is quite pleasant, this is without doubt the absolute WORST Mexican food I have ever eaten. Sorry! I've dined in at least 100 Mexican restaurants in the U.S. and the food served at Calavera is truly an embarrassment. Nachos served COLD (not even placed under the broiler), cheese-wiz (fake liquid cheese out of a tube), sour cream tasted like mayonnaise ... burrito was dry and tasteless ... on and on. We waited today 45 minutes for food. After they give us the food we waited 5 minutes for the cutlery! I visited this restaurant 3 times and it is still a problem here with waiting.

Ordiniamo giusto una sangria ed una tapas a testa come spuntino di metà pomeriggio per provare il locale. Passano 5, 10, 15, 20 minuti e le tapas non arrivano. Mi alzo e vedo che sono ferme sul tavolo della cucina chissa da quando, pronte per essere portate al tavolo. Chiedo a due persone diverse se sono le nostre tapas che aspettiamo da molto tempo ed intanto si accumulano altri piatti che non vengono portati ai tavoli. Sono le 16:30 di pomeriggio e ci sono pochi tavoli, quindi è proprio una questione di disorganizzazione. Dopo altri 10 minuti, senza alcuna giustificazione finalmente, sollecitata dalla persona a cui ho chiesto, la cameriera ce le porta e sono ormai fredde perché nonostante ci siano lampade x riscaldare il cibo uscito dalla cucina è passato troppo tempo. In cassa alla domanda tutto bene faccio presente il problema e faccio notare che sul banco della cucina è pieno di piatti fermi non portati ai tavoli...
