BIANCOSALE. — Restaurant in Castellabate

THE COVER CHARGE WAS 6 EURO PER HEAD!!! ........ OUTRAGEOUS!!!!! even the superb Michelin star restaurant 1861 in Castellabate doesn't charge that much!!! . We did not see this on the menu and I COULD NOT FIND ANY MENU ONLINE to check if we had been overcharged........ which I assume they did!!. Fortunately we only ordered antipasti to start with, before ordering any other courses. The Baccala Fritto su crema di ceci was Ok but the creamed ceci was way too dry and stodgy to act as a sauce. The baby octopus ( Polipetti alla Luciana) was large not small and too tough to cut let alone eat, They offered to replace it with another bacala but I later realised THEY HAD CHARGED US FOR THE POLIPETTI !!. ( When I was obviously trying to check this when paying they told me they hadn't!! ) 123.00 euro for 3 people (Aus 201.00) (for just an antipasto, and a bottle of wine and water.... and the wine didn't arrive until long after they had served the antipasti. We stay a couple of months every year in Castellabate where there are some excellent restaurants but we thought to try a new place. We chose it because of the setting the large deck overlooking the ocean looks lovely .... But we definitely won't be returning to...

Un posto nel quale tornare, con particolare piacere. Suggestiva la piattaforma sul mare e raffinato l’allestimento dei tavoli, la cui illuminazione viene assicurata da piccoli lumi posizionati su di essi che assicurano una atmosfera elegante e di classe. La qualità del cibo non può che essere definita eccellente, grazie ad una materia prima di indiscussa qualità e alle preparazioni capaci di esaltarle come raramente ho potuto apprezzare in un ristorante dedito alla cucina di pesce. Piatti saporiti, ben presentati e porzioni generose. Personale garbato, elegante e di rara cortesia. Correttissimo il rapporto qualità-prezzo. Un banale contrattempo ci ha consentito di apprezzare la professionalità e la cura dedicata al cliente di chi abbiamo scoperto essere i proprietari; al nostro arrivo (8 persone) il tavolo prenotato non era ancora disponibile. Antonio (il proprietario, costantemente presente ai tavoli per tutta la serata), oltre a scusarsi per il disguido, ci ha fatto accomodare su delle poltroncine all’aperto, accanto al bar, dove veniamo omaggiati di un ottimo prosecco (Bio) e raggiunti dalla moglie che, oltre a scusarsi ancora per il ritardo, si trattiene con noi in attesa che il tavolo venga organizzato. Una premura e un garbo che confortano, quali tratti distintivi di una apprezzata professionalità, un giudizio...

Very nicely located restaurant by the sea. Unfortunately the staff is very unfriendly. Spaghetti with vongole was sandy. When we raised it, it was not taken seriously and we were billed anyway. We were no longer served from that point on. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is not correct at all. More appearances...
