We didn't have a good experience here. Even on a Wednesday, the wait was interminably long even though there weren't that many clients. When we sat down, the owner's son was yelling at his staff. That didn't make for a good feel. The food was okay but, compared to the other often exquisite things we had elsewhere in Tuscany, nothing special. The pizza and calzone were solid. Salad bland to okay. The pasta, uninspired. The prices reasonable but when it came to payment, a real disaster. They wouldn't print out the bill for us at first. Who knows what the problem was. The son of the owner made it difficult for us to pay and was quite surly. The rest of the staff seemed reasonably polite. I wouldn't recommend this place mainly because of the treatment we received and I think that our biking group, which has been visiting the region for 20 years, will probably make a move to something better. You won't need to look hard...

We were a party of 7 and upon finishing dinner, were told we could only pay all cash or credit card. They refused to supply an itemized receipt to anyone. There was another large table that had to tell the owner’s son (who is rude) what they had and then one had to rely on his honesty (or lack thereof) which became apparent when we demanded the bill and there was an extra pizza on our tab! While the food was decent and even good, I would not suggest anyone eat here because they are clearly dishonest and that overshadowed the whole experience. When confronted about it, their reaction was over the top. Service was also slow. It was very apparent that they do not cater to tourists and prefer locals dining because they overcharge tourists and get...

It was okay, not much more than that. The menu is very tourist oriented, not much more than pizza and you will find that service is adequate but a bit messy. When we arrived we had to switch tables and were moved twice. After that for 2 minutes a confused and all over the place waitress took over before a new waiter served us instead. Whilst all this was going on another waiter, with weird hair to make a show was advertising very loudly to passing tourists and telling them to wait 5 minutes - in reality I saw one family who had a reservation being made to wait 30 minutes whilst others pushed in around them. On the other hand food was okay, but pizza was nothing special. Unless you want the same old tourist food I don't recommend...

The staff were friendly and attentive, and it's a nice touch that they make their own pizza dough—you might even catch them in the act. The pasta dishes were a decent size, and the pici with pepper was ok with a good amount of pepper. The pizza base was good, but unfortunately, the dishes we chose were mostly bland and didn't impress. I also find it frustrating when a restaurant doesn't have a visible drink or dessert menu with prices. It's much more efficient and honest for customers to know exactly what they have to drink and how much they'll be paying at the end

So good we visited twice in a week. We try not to return to a restaurant, to experience as many new places as possible when staying somewhere but this was impossible to resist. We visited on our first night and the staff were so quick organising pizzas after a long day of travel across Europe. We felt bad getting takeaway but had to. We returned on our last night to dine in. Excellent service, great food and a stunning location to people watch and enjoy the Castellina vibe from. Thanks for 2 delicious dinners! 🍕🥗🍷

Fantastic restaurant, where you can watch the pizza and pasta chefs in action as they prepare enormous tasty portions, and of course traditional meat dishes, charcuterie (cuttlery) also stonking. Came here at the end of our holiday week last Friday, perfect end to a lovely week to discover that everything that was great about the sister restaurant (Il Fondaccio dai Dottori) has moved here. An experience not to be missed!
